Hello,
I also have the lens error 0X04110000 issue with my PENTAX E60 camera. When I turn it on, I can't do anything, not even access the menu, and after a few seconds, this error message appears on the screen. The camera then turns off by itself.
This problem appeared for no obvious reason; it fell without a hard shock onto the sand. I took a few photos, and then 5 minutes later, the issue occurred.
Should I take it back to the store? Is it repairable, or can I fix it myself with a certain manipulation???
Thank you for providing an answer as quickly as possible if you have one, as my camera is essential for my work right now.
I thank you in advance.

Thank you for the help, I had the same problem with a Pentax Optio E60, but it is now working properly thanks to this manipulation. It is true that it may seem risky to jostle these devices packed with miniatures and electronics. At least it has managed to make the device work properly and that is wonderful. So a thousand thanks and respect.
I just solved the problem with my Pentax E70L using a simple domestic vacuum cleaner, with the thinnest hose, by doing a meticulous cleaning all around the lens (without disassembling anything, obviously!). Then the lens error code changed, and I continued to open and close the camera, trying to change the "scene" options, and the camera didn't close! ... and I was able to take photos again! ... relieved! ... the camera was not even 2 months old! ... but let's remember that it doesn't like sand!

I have the same problem, lens error 0x0311. Since it was given to me, it has been doing this from time to time, but for the past 2 weeks, it has been stuck and turns off immediately. I'm frustrated.
Hello, I have a Pentax Optio E75 and it was showing lens error 0x1511 I believe, and now it's lens error 0x0111
PS: it fell, not hard, I was holding it and it fell from a maximum of 10 cm off the ground. Is it dead?
Thanks

Lens error = Lens problem.
You say it fell on the sand... It only takes a grain of sand to jam the lens.
A little cleaning is in order.
Have a nice day.

Hi
I had the same problem and I turned it on and pressed a bit on the lens to push it in.
It went in and turned on normally.

Same issue today with a Pentax Optio 701L that is just over a year old.
I used the method mentioned above, which is to press firmly on the lens while turning the camera OFF. The lens retracted "with force" into its housing.
Restarted, used the zoom fully in and out 20-25 times, and no lens error appeared anymore.
Also, the point of blockage, which made a little clicking sound when the zoom was activated before the manipulation, has disappeared.
I hesitated before doing it, but since the camera is no longer under warranty and the repair could cost more than a new one, I went for it. It worked.
Thanks for the tip ^^
Have a good day everyone.

My device is finally working again, but it makes some little noises 'crackling', so I don't know if it's going to last.
The lens error is still there, the lens is stuck. When I pressed as you advised, it got completely stuck.
