Hello,
to complete my internship report, I need to find software that allows me to draw the wiring of a network cabinet: switch (HP ProCurve Switch 4108 GL J4865A) + 4 patch panels + termination panel. Additionally, I would like to know the meaning of the markings on twisted pair cables and fiber optic cables such as: ORTRONICS CAT5E E107890 24AWG STRANDED CM 75C CC UL JUS ETL VERIFIED 568-B.2 CAT5E & ISO/IEC 11801 CAT 5 2103 4306 FT
ORTRONICS OR-21 1 UTP 4PPC 17/2000 -UTP CATEGORY 5 PATCH CORD 4*2*24AWG -ISO-IEC 11801 -PL
ORTRONICS GigaMo E107890 ETL VERIF TIA/EIA 568-A CAT5E & ISO/IEC 11801 CATU24 STRANOEO CM 75C (UL) 4901 39807T
or for fiber optic:
CORNING FutureLink Laser-Optimized J-UH 2*1g62.5/ 125 InfiniCor 300 Fiber T63 FNRC GbE 300/550 meters at 850/1300 nm
thank you.

Hello,
MS Visio + the right Visio templates. To my knowledge, there isn't much available for free that has a "professional" result. My university provided access to MSDN licenses (look into it) so that we could have Visio for free. I had to work on a Trapeze Networks architecture and proceeded like that.

he has other software like EDraw which I believe is free but it's true the result is not professional;
but my knowledge in the field of computer science is very limited so I have no idea about MSDN licenses.
It's a program through which students from a participating university have access to Microsoft licenses for free. What is available depends on your field of study. In mine, we had access to XP, Vista, and Visio.
