Hello! I installed the so-called latest update for my Techwood 5050S DivX player, which is version 1.185. Everything is fine so far, except that:
when testing a DivX on the player some time ago, the picture is perfect but there is no sound, while on the PC it works perfectly. Is there something to encode or is there possibly another latest update?
Can someone keep me informed please?
Thanks to everyone, see you!

    Hello,

But not knowing where you got the 1.185, I recommend downloading and using the utility at the bottom of the page (it acts like a normal update, but uninstalls all incorrect updates or those preventing a new update).

    By checking at this address

it is indeed version 1.165 that I have and not 1.185. I had already used the procedure in case of malfunction or a faulty update, and the latest version, namely 1.165, is well installed on my DivX player; however, there is no sound on one of my movies (an exceptional case never encountered before).

    Well,
-With a movie or a batch of DIVx movies?
-Is there a nomenclature requiring a particular divx codec compared to others?
-Could the quality of the medium be deficient?
In this last case, you would need to use an analysis software like CD-R DIAGNOSTIC; If only one movie has this problem, it's not the player, but the medium of the movie that is at fault or the quality of its encoding.
For you, this is an exceptional case, having more than 400 DVD media in stock, and constantly increasing, I buy blank media in batches of 100: In terms of quantity, I have already encountered over 10% of DVDs with manufacturing defects (poor sector cutting, poor arrangement of cyanine, presence of a bubble in the disc, rapid degradation of its reflector, etc.). I even have the opposite case: 1 DVD that plays perfectly on my standalone player, but not on my machine (even with DVD navigator, DVD Genie, or FreeDVD+BeCSS). So 1 out of an entire batch, please give me the address of this supplier.

Hello, thank you for your response
under no circumstances is the support deficient or bad, I read the technical sheet of the divx player which indicates that the wma format is not supported and currently there are no updates available to remedy this problem.
If anything, I would need a software that allows me to convert the sound of my divx to mp3 that would be accepted by my player but even then, neither nandub nor virtual dub accept it, anyway it's really a mess

that's it @+ in case you have any 9

    I'm stuck a bit.
You're in DIVx, and VirtualDub doesn't allow re-encoding DivX through the MPEG3 layer to modify the audio pack?
What does Tmpeg encoder give? We use it to convert an MPEG4 (divx) to MPEG1 (VCD/SVCD), then we go to Rippack, and we convert the audio file to MP3. http://www.nidinfo.com/html/repor_1_divx.html
By the way, the message from VirtualDub isn't about WMA, it just doesn't recognize the DivX 5.02 encoding you have on your current file (error Dx5.0)

      Thank you for your help,
I managed to get a movie with good encoding. First, I downloaded the DivX 5.1 codec and then the Nimo Codec Pack 7,

from there on Nandub, I do direct stream copy for video,
for audio, I use full processing mode > compression, and I can choose the MP3 sound quality I want.
Thanks again, and maybe see you soon if I have other issues.

Nono.

Hello, I would also be interested in updating the DVX 5050 S. Indeed, the Vestel site doesn’t seem to be working, but I don’t know how to install the firmware 1.88 I downloaded from Clubic; the file is in .rom format.

        Hello,

I would like to know if you have successfully updated your firmware to 1.88 in .rom because I can't seem to do it...
The image burned with Nero doesn't seem to work; the drive opens as soon as it loads the disc containing the image.

        Thanks in advance.

Otherwise, do you have the Techwood TV companies? Or where to look?

Techwood is a sub-brand of Vestel, which offers poorly made and not always well-developed products. There are no possible updates due to lack of support. A brand to avoid...
