problem updating time and date Solved

Question

Hello,
I can't seem to update the time and date. I click on the clock in the bottom right corner of my computer and then on "update date and time" and nothing happens. Can you please help me? Thank you.

Right-click on the time in the notification area
Adjust date and time
Update the time and date
Make sure it's the correct time zone
Apply and OK.

After that, do the automatic synchronization:
Click on Internet Time
Click on --> time.windows.com

It's possible that the battery located on the motherboard of the PC is dead, in which case it would just need to be replaced ;)

Hello, if you haven't fiddled with the BIOS "clock settings of your machine," it's the BIOS battery as Husman60 mentioned. If it's a desktop PC and you no longer hear the startup BEEP, then yes, it might be the BIOS battery.
Or when reinstalling the operating system, you might not have filled in the keyboard & UTC region fields correctly.
Be careful regarding the security of your workstation; if you don't have the correct time and date, you will have a time difference with Windows Update and its security updates, as well as with your antivirus, so the updates will not work anymore.

This is exactly what is happening: time zone issues with Windows Update and its security updates, as well as with my antivirus, so the updates are not working anymore. But I don't understand why when I click on update, it doesn't work as if it was blocked, and the same goes for Internet time, changing settings doesn't work either; nothing happens when I click on it.

There is indeed the startup beep, and for fiddling in the BIOS, I don't think I did anything since I don't see how to access it.

I already tried to do that, but when I click on adjust date and time, nothing happens. The same goes for time.windows.com.

I would start by checking the date and time elements in the BIOS, then check that they do not change after the PC is turned off; the issue with the BIOS battery hasn't been followed up completely!

At startup, look on the screen for the setup command, it may be F2, del, etc...
Once in the BIOS, adjust the time and date.
Then, press F10 or exit with save to save the changes.
