Keyboard locked: what to do?
SolvedSkream -
Dear friends,
the keyboard of my PC is blocked (I'm writing from another workstation).
Everything works normally, including the mouse, but when you press a key on the keyboard, you only get a "beep".
I tried to do a "system restore" to an earlier date, a procedure that usually works without problems, but without success; the machine reports that it can no longer do it. I ran a full scan with Kaspersky (real-time protection installed), which found nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks to all,
Benny

there you go, I hope my intervention will be helpful =)
I can no longer type certain letters with my wireless keyboard. I have to use the on-screen keyboard to type "z, d, ..."
Any ideas maybe?
Thank you.
So I have the same problem, my keyboard (desktop PC) isn't working anymore, everything else works but I can't use my keyboard. I checked the connections and they're fine, the problem is that when I plug it in the lights come on so I suppose it's not dead, but they only stay on for like 1/2 a second then black out... Plus, to access my account I have a password so I can't even get in, I'm forced to use another one that doesn't have a password but it's not the administrator account so it doesn't change much...
Any ideas?
Thanks
After searching in vain for a complex solution, I realized that the Alt Gr key on my keyboard was stuck!
IT professionals will find my solution ridiculous, but since I unstuck that key, everything is working again.

This operation, which normally needs to be redone every time you start the PC, can be made automatic by a simple modification in the registry.
Here are the sites where the procedure is clearly explained.

Have you tried the control panel and then accessibility? Then uncheck: filter keys and sticky keys.
You just need to press the shift key 5 times in a row and the keyboard gets stuck.
I hope this can help someone.
See you soon

On the taskbar, there is a search bar, so you type "accessibility" in it, and from the list of results that appears, you click on (keyboard settings for accessibility). After that, a window will open, then you uncheck or disable the box (Filter Keys).
do this:
click on the button to open the start menu
copy and paste this: "devmgmt.msc" without the quotes
click on the best match (the result that appears)
double-click on "keyboards"
right-click on each keyboard and "uninstall"
restart your pc
If when you type an a you see a Q written, it means you have switched your keyboard to QWERTY.
For France, it should be in AZERTY, so go to your taskbar at the bottom right and change the keyboard language to French ;)
