TomTom XL IQ Routes GPS Map Not Found

Solved

Hello everyone,

Here is my problem. I bought a TomTom XL IQ Routes 2009 GPS (so recent). I added voices, updated it (as usual, almost every day). Unfortunately for me, it can no longer find the map and I get a message when I turn on my GPS... map not found! I don't see what to do because when I install the map I get an error message during the installation and not during the download.

If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it...

Best regards,

Séb

Reconnect your GPS, once TomTom Home is visible on your screen
    go to restore
And don't forget to disconnect your device from TomTom Home, otherwise you'll crash it
    always make backups (IMPORTANT)

And if I didn't back it up before, under TTHOME, how do I do it?

      Hello everyone, hi Rhea,
can you please help me? I just bought an XL IQ Route Europe. When I connect, it offers me the latest available version. I try to download it, but at the time of installation, there is a problem: installation failed. As a result, I no longer have my old map, and my new map installed is not functional.
Thank you for helping me. I'm desperate! I was supposed to leave 2 hours ago.
      Thanks.

Me too, it's the same. I wanted to download the latest map of France but when I try to install it, it doesn't work. Worse, I no longer have access to the old map. So it tells me that my map is not compatible with my device. I'm looking for a solution, thanks to you all.

      Hi guyguy,
are you addressing dijo or me? I'm noviceinquiet! If it's to me, ask your questions and I'll tell you what I can! But I'm still a novice (less anxious!)

    Hello,

Have you found an answer to your problem?

I’m in the same situation: the installation of the card on the device didn’t work, and now it’s impossible to use the card, and impossible to delete the improperly installed card...

I’m considering resetting everything according to the procedure found on the Tom Tom website, but it scares me a lot...

by the way, tired of looking for a solution, I had my TomTom exchanged at the store. but it was almost the same problem. so I contacted customer support and they sent me a specific email with solutions that helped me. but it's long. if you want, I could send you a copy of it.
      see you later

      Good evening,
I just logged into this forum because like many others, I just bought a TomTom XL IQ Routes and of course it crashed while downloading the update. It seems you have some information that could help me restart the device since, of course, I didn't make a backup before the download, which seems to be pointless anyway in the event of a crash.

Thank you for sharing any information you might have.

      Best regards,

      Hi everyone,
here are the instructions I received from TomTom. It worked, but I remind you that the download is still long and I also remind you that it is a TomTom XL IQ Routes Europe. Good luck

"Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.

      1. First, click on Start>Control Panel>User Accounts. Please check that your account is indeed the Administrator account.

      2. Please install the Microsoft .NET Framework from the following link:

      http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6

      3. Then open a web page. Click on Tools, then Internet Options. Click on Options, then Trusted Sites, and then Sites. Enter the following addresses in the window: https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/ and https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/

      4. Do not use your work computer, only use your personal computer at home.

      5. If you are using a proxy, you can configure TomTom Home for your proxy. To do this, in TomTom Home, click on Tools>Preferences.
Then click on the Connection tab and enter your proxy settings there.

      6. Do not use a WiFi connection, only a wired Internet connection.

Once you have done all of this:

Click on Start>Programs>Uninstall TomTom Home. Then follow the instructions given by the computer.

Press the Windows key on your keyboard, hold this key down and press R. A Run window opens. Type %appdata% in this window. A new window with folders will appear. Locate the TomTom folder, right-click on it, then Delete>OK.

Click on Start>My Documents>TomTom>Home. Right-click on the Home folder, rename>TomTomOld

You can then download the new version of TomTom Home from the following link: https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/sat-nav/maps-services/
Then click on Run or open.

You will need to restart your computer to finalize the installation of this program. Before that, check that TomTom Home is properly installed on the (C:) drive of your computer.

We hope we have answered your question. If your problem is not resolved, please reply to us with a precise description of the problem (error message, difficulties encountered with the provided procedure...)

If you have any comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to let us know.

      Best regards,"

    Hello,
Same situation and same effects. I reinstalled by connecting directly with an Ethernet cable, and not via Wi-Fi.
I believe that's the solution, but I still have a problem, the Home and Favorite icons are no longer bright??? and I can't access them, otherwise everything works and my time is wrong.
    Best regards.

    Hello,
I found a solution by following the procedure in the manual and resetting everything to zero.
But I believe the most important thing is to connect with a direct Ethernet cable rather than using Wi-Fi.
    Best regards,
    J.C

      Hello
I had the same issue when updating the map on my GPS (map not found on startup). Fortunately, I had made a backup, so I had to reinstall everything.

        Hello
I have a TomTom XL IQ Routes Europe 42 countries that I got in 2009.
I lost the backup when I updated it.
So now, I only have 13 countries left.
Can you send me a backup?
        Thank you

        Hello,

Each Tomtom has its own mapping and it does not work on another device even if it is the same model.
