I just encountered the "card not found" issue like many of you, here’s what customer service advised me to do and it’s been working since.
Dear Mr./Ms. XXXX,
Thank you for the message you sent to TomTom Customer Support.
We recommend that you manually back up your data as follows:
- Open a new folder on your computer’s desktop
- Connect your TomTom to your computer; it will be recognized as a removable disk under My Computer.
- Double-click on the TomTom icon to view its contents
To perform and restore backups, your computer must show hidden files. To do this, you can change the settings as follows:
• a. Open [My Computer] and select the menu options [Tools -> Folder Options -> View]
• b. Now select [Show hidden files and folders] and click [OK]
- Then copy all the contents of the folders to the new folder you previously created on your computer's desktop.
Format the SD card or your internal memory by going to 'My Computer', 'removable disks', right-clicking on your TomTom, then selecting 'format'. (Make sure you have made a backup first)
Only copy the following folders (yellow directories) onto your SD card:
- France or Western Europe Maps
- Voices
- ITN (if you have entered routes)
Then do an update!)
Go to HOME in "add maps, voices, etc., click the right arrow until you reach the 'elements on my computer' function, select the application and click add.
Best regards,
