VLC: How to access a DVD menu?

Good evening,

Sorry for the question, which has probably already been asked, but I have done several searches, gone through dozens of pages without finding an answer to my question...

How can I access the menu of a DVD using VLC software? I have tried several DVDs with VLC, but every time the program starts without me ever accessing the menu. I have looked through plenty of options, but I didn’t see anything... Yet I know it’s possible; it worked when I had Windows (now I'm on Linux-Mandriva).

So if someone can help me... thanks in advance! :) And have a good start to the week, everyone.

Good evening

I think it's like KM Player, you need to right-click on the screen to access certain menu

See you+

Hi,
Actually, I might not have expressed myself well. When I right-click, I get options, but just to access the Chapters/Titles... I want the menu as you see it when you put the DVD in a DVD player connected to the TV... (you know, with a picture of the movie in the background, the sub-menus for Audio, Bonus, etc...)

(by the way, to clarify: there’s a button in VLC that says Menu when I hover over it, but when I click on it, it takes me back to the beginning of the DVD instead of a real menu)

It's still strange, it must be something really simple... I haven't stopped going through all the VLC options since yesterday but still nothing... damn...

Hi,

I had the same problem, but I have the solution ;)

You just need to install the vlc-plugin-dvdnav package!

I was also surprised to find out that Mandriva made a separate package for that O_o

Good luck ;)
