How to read a DVD with a mobile external DVD-RW pop-up

Hello,

I bought an external DVD player (popo-up mobile external DVD-RW 3USB) so that I can watch DVDs on my laptop (ASUS VivoBook). Unfortunately, the player refuses to read my DVDs and I don’t understand why it doesn’t display anything... I downloaded the VLC app to help, but nothing happens when I ask it to play the disk... I'm on Windows 10.
I don’t know much about computers, it’s a bit complicated for me...
