Package received by mistake

Hello,
I recently received a package from my mobile operator (a phone) even though I never ordered anything from them, about 3 weeks ago. On the same day I also received a letter telling me that I should have received the phone I ordered (...) that the phone had already been paid for by card (not by me anyway) and that I needed to send them a bank account details so they could debit the monthly charges for my plan. Indeed the phone apparently was paid for with a 2-year commitment. They say that if I no longer want this plan I must pay the remaining price of the phone. I have two questions about this:

1 - Should I return the phone to them? Morally, I should, I know. But in my view, mobile telephony is one of the biggest scams of our time and a real money pump. It isn’t a small trade but a very big company which, as is often the case with mobile telephony, makes mistakes that suit them. By the way, I wouldn’t be surprised if the phone I received was deliberately sent to me by them to lure me (because I am a very bad customer for them).
I know they can claim the package from me but they must cover the shipping cost. But in the event that they claim it, am I obligated to return it to them?

2 - I will not give them the money they demand, obviously. Is it possible to play dead and not return anything or do I have to report myself?

Basically, I despise them and I want to keep this phone. What should I do? Contact them? Play dead? Is there a time limit after which, if they don’t send me anything back, the phone becomes mine? Or is it already mine?

Thanks in advance for your answers

If you did not order this phone, report them and ask to be refunded, with a return slip, do not fill out the withdrawal request, unfortunately you gave them your credit card number, free for them to use. Consider sending a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt. If they refuse, contact the DGCCRF of your department, or a consumer association, as your case resembles hard selling.

They did not debit any money from me. I have no trace of it on my statements. In any case, at no point did I give them my credit card number. But I am a customer with them, so they must have my bank account details somewhere, but since they’re asking me for a second one, perhaps they cannot use it for two different “orders.”
Anyway, as long as they don’t take money from me, I don’t think we can call it a forced sale. All I want to know is whether, legally, I am obliged to give it back to them if they don’t ask for anything, and if they ask for something, and whether there are deadlines after which they can’t ask for anything. I obviously will not send it back to them at my expense. And even if they cover the cost, I did not ask these people for anything and I am not paid to go to the post office, talk to them on the phone, and fix their mistakes for free.

If you haven’t requested anything, ask for the return procedure, and if you are asked to pay for the return, ask to be reimbursed by deducting it from your next bill. Never say “silent.” Silence gives consent. Always favor dialogue, and if there is a cost for the call, also ask for it to be deducted from your next bill. I’m with Neuf and it works very well, provided the request is justified.
