Hello,
I am currently using total unbundling with Free. I have the right to unlimited telephony on a landline, obviously through a Freebox; I even have two numbers, my old one and another one given by Free.
Everything is working correctly: Emails, Internet, I can make phone calls, but I do not have any "incoming" calls! (people cannot call me)!
My phone rings, but when I pick up, I cannot hear my caller? For them, it keeps ringing until the answering machine kicks in, and for me, there is a sound like a line on hold...
Thanks to anyone who might have a solution to this problem.

Normally, if there is an unidentified problem, the support would send a technician for verification.
If the problem is with Free, Free is responsible for the bill; however, the customer is billed if it's the subscriber's error.
Have a good day. -
It's the only way to no longer hold Free accountable.
I hope you're going to fix the problem, Noëlle.
Have a nice day.-

Hello Electricien69,
as for the assistance from Free, I contacted them by email and I'm waiting for a reply. Otherwise, since I'm not stubborn, I just reconnected the Free Wi-Fi phone a moment ago, without doing any maneuver (hard reboot or anything), just turned it on and surprise, it rings. Surprising, isn't it! I actually think like you that an ordinary digital phone works just as well, if not better. What bothers me is having invested 60 euros in a temperamental device and having to buy another one less than a year later. This is where I will see if you are right to be optimistic about replacing my phone. Thank you for your advice.

Hi, as I told you earlier, I have a digital cordless phone that works very well at home (Siemens Gigaset C 450) and I have no issues with it. Besides, it was one of the things I checked on the Free website before buying it.
At that time, I saw the Wi-Fi phone, but I paid less than 40€ for my phone at Darty with a warranty, and in case I have a battery issue or something, I know how to handle the repairs.
Just a tip: in case you opt for purchasing a cordless digital phone, make sure to get a device that uses rechargeable batteries of the AAA or AA type (formerly LR6).
For potential replacement, you can find them everywhere. -

You might need to reboot it first
Then try this
The power supply transformer is often a source of problems with telephony. If you have a neighbor with Free, do a test with this transformer

Hello everyone,
I just read your messages. I've been a Free user for about 6 years.
I just have one question for Frtiano and those who are having this issue: have you checked the Free website to see if your phone is compatible with the Free mobile network?
As for the Wi-Fi call on incoming calls, you need to go to the Freebox interface online and review the settings.
Another solution is to connect via the Free interface to the Free technical assistant in chat for quick answers. They conduct tests live.
Good troubleshooting!-
Hello everyone, I've been reading your posts for a few days and I'm happy for Noelle who got her issue resolved without doing anything but waiting for Free to fix her problem...! I admit that I wish I could say the same. Unfortunately, in my case, I'm still at the same point. My phone is listed with Free. I've also tried with other devices that are also on that list, but nothing works. Even my registered letter hasn't received a response? So I've decided to send everything back to them on Monday 11/05. I still don't know where I'll go to get my line.... but I'm fed up with this incident that's ruining my life. Best wishes to you, and thanks anyway for your messages.

Hello Fetiano,
It's good to make a decision, but I must admit that I've been with Free for 6 years in total unbundling, and there have been more or less serious issues regarding internet and phone connections and TV.
About a year ago, I moved, and given my longstanding relationship with Free, I took the opportunity to change everything at the time of my move, replacing the old Freebox version 3 with one that has a hard drive and powerline for communication between the TV box and the Freebox. Miraculously, I no longer have any issues with TV or internet cuts, but I still have some echo problems on the phone during conversations. I shared all this to let you know that I have friends with other operators, and they all have more or less the same problems as I do.
I think the root of the issues lies with the France Telecom lines currently leased to internet service providers, as these are analog lines, and the equipment isn’t suited for this use.
Some operators are currently laying their own unbundled lines, which is the case with Free, but this time with fiber optics in big cities.
In the meantime, until we switch to fiber, we simply have to be patient because the other operators will never tell you if their lines are malfunctioning or not.
As for changing the phone, I've been using a Siemens C 450, cordless and digital, for over 4 years and, as I mentioned in another message posted earlier, I have no issues with it.
It's up to you to decide.
Have a good day. -
Thank you E...69, it’s kind of you. Indeed, I completely agree with you that other operators “season” their offerings in their own way to attract customers. I also fully agree that it is indeed France Télécom (ORANGE) that is blocking things; as I received an offer from them for a special deal with the possibility of reclaiming my old line number, etc., at an advantageous price, without a France Télécom subscription, and for an extra €1 a technician would come to install everything at home including phone, internet, TV, etc.! Surprising, isn’t it...? I don’t think I have much choice as I am over 4 km from their exchange and no other operator can do better for now. I will keep you updated on the follow-up of this “situation.” Thanks again for bringing these unpleasant situations to the attention of all the “disarmed” people like us! Best regards.

As far as I'm concerned, before my move I was 1500 meters from their central office, but today luckily I am only 150 meters away (the notion of distance is important but not essential because France Telecom compensates for these problems with the filters provided for these effects).
To start with, in your place, I would return their troublesome phone with a return form and request for a refund before canceling the subscription if you intend to do so.
Once you have received the refund, you can initiate the cancellation procedures; otherwise, you will be stuck with a Free WiFi phone.
Have a good evening. -
Thank you for the advice, Electricien 69! But I have no phone other than my own that is compatible with the Freebox as indicated on their list of recommended devices. This is still a "big" problem as it affects a lot of people judging by the exchanged messages (35)! As promised, I will keep you updated on the follow-up of this "FREE affair!" Best regards.

Hello
I had already done what you suggested.... nothing has changed... I have a Freebox v2
in my management interface, my phone number is clearly shown: starting with 03...... and the line connected to Freebox is starting with 09....
I didn't choose my phone number: it was given to me when I called to sign up with them...
Could this be the cause.... when I call people, my number starting with 09.... shows up on their screen because I read that I should choose my phone number in the management interface
Please help me as I'm losing sleep over this......

You need to go to my account when you are on the Free portal. You log in with the username and password.
There you arrive at the Freebox management interface
A click on phone
There you see your France Telecom number 02 9x xx xx xx and the Freebox phone number 09 50 xx xx xx.
If you don't have the Free number, that might be the problem, although I have some doubts since you can call.
I hope you haven't set up call forwarding on your Free line
Are you on full unbundling or do you have both France Telecom and Free at the same time?
Don't worry, a solution will surely be found
Have a good afternoon-
re
I am in total unbundling: I have cancelled my France Telecom line
in my management interface, my old number appears correctly (as I have cancelled France Telecom but asked Free to keep my old number) and the Free number starting with 09... also appears
looking forward to hearing from you

In my account, phone and manage my associated services, no box should be checked.
In forwarding to voicemail, personally I have forwarding for any cause of unavailability with a delay of 35.
If you change anything, you save it.
Do you have any other phones plugged into an FT socket?
See you! -

contact your customer service first at 3244, advice: prepare your usernames, passwords... etc.

Thank you Clarisse, but I've already called about 6 times, each time with a different person who asked me for all the information, and the result = nothing concrete. That's why I'm looking elsewhere, hoping that someone has experienced the same problem and will share their method with me!
- Hello,
I read your message; I have the same problem since April 24th. Incoming calls to my Wi-Fi phone no longer go through; they go directly to my Free phone or to my voicemail. I’ve tried everything to fix it, but nothing works. Everything else seems fine: TV, internet, router, I can call using Wi-Fi, but I can't receive calls. Have you found a solution? Thank you for kindly keeping me informed. Best regards, Noëlle - Hello Noëlle, I'm sorry to have no solution to offer you! Indeed, since my call on the forum, I have had several contacts with the Free support service, but despite a multitude of "manipulations," I still have the same problem = no incoming calls? Yesterday, I sent them a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt to inform them that I would cancel our contract if there was no change within the week. However, I hope, just between you and me, that they will provide a favorable response because I'm not excited about switching to another operator... Please let me know if you find a method on your side! Best regards.
- Good evening,
Thank you for responding so quickly to my message. No, I haven't found a solution, still no incoming calls on my Wi-Fi phone; they are systematically directed to the Freebox phone or voicemail. This afternoon I tried the usual maneuver again, without success. Yet everything seems correct, including the calls directed to SIP or its settings. If I had a hat, I would eat it out of rage! I have given up on contacting Free's support; they have never been of any help to me, and I am not thrilled about switching to another provider either, yet the problems with the white Wi-Fi phone keep piling up and are all different... Thank you for letting me know if you have an answer to this issue. Best regards, Noëlle.

I indeed have the same problem, no incoming calls for a few days and everything else is working perfectly. Apparently, we all have the same issue! Could there be a link to the last update of the Freebox? Like Noelle, I have done all the usual troubleshooting steps but nothing works. Please let us know the solution if there is one.

Hello Louis,
I haven't found any solution to the problem, yesterday I tried all the usual maneuvers again: hard reboot, reconfiguration of the Freebox, Wi-Fi, router, call forwarding to SIP, checking SIP settings, factory reset for the Wi-Fi phone, connecting the phone to the Freebox cable, activating the phone, nothing... nothing happens and everything else works. I decided to write today to Free, BP 2105, 75771 Paris cedex 16, because the support is ineffective. If you have a solution on your side, please let me know, I will keep you updated myself. Best regards, Noëlle.- Hello Noëlle, unfortunately I haven't had much success in resolving the issue. I contacted support via email, but they haven't responded yet. That said, I don't have high hopes in that regard. I'm going to reinstall an old non-WiFi phone and disable my SIP account to check if the problem is related to the Free white phone or not. I'll let you know the test results. Louis

Hello,
I disabled the wifi phone to replace it with a non-wifi one and surprise, everything works! The problem is indeed the Free white phone which has glitches. I will try to get a refund for my purchase = €60 for a phone that constantly has operational issues is a bit pricey. Unless someone has found a way to make it work?
Louis -
Indeed, it is always necessary to try another phone in a basic way to eliminate phone issues requiring adjustments.
Good evening.
