Hello.
You will have a better chance of getting a reply in this forum:
https://bricolage.linternaute.com/forum/auto/forum-auto-8000
Where you can use the same username/password as here.
There you formulate your question, and normally, members will respond to you.
Here, it is more aimed at high tech, computing.
Have a nice day.

Bonjour,
It is not materially the GPS that has disappeared but its mapping, and the problem is not then a matter of tinkering but of technology.
There are no more GPS updates for years on a model of this age unless they were bought from the dealer, if they are still available; if you downloaded somewhere a utility claiming to do it, you can expect the worst.
The first hypothesis, if it exists at all, costs an arm and is most often limited to annual or every-two-year subscriptions, but at the end of which the mapping should not disappear, only be frozen.
It is surely more profitable in this hypothesis to buy a standalone GPS from a reputable brand with lifetime updates; I recycled one that must be around 10 years old with no problem on my new car where I deliberately did not choose the GPS option, which, only available in a global package, cost more than €1000.
The option in question is in decline on a large number of vehicles because, if they are Android Auto compatible, everyone uses Waze on the tablet without paying a penny.Hello Brucine,
thank you for getting back to me,
I’m steering the requester not to a DIY forum, but to an Auto forum,
I don’t know much about this specific field of automobiles, but even though it is technology, and your intervention ends with a certain truth, the dealers that could respond to this type of request will be far better known by people on an Auto Forum than on a High Tech Forum.
Hence my direction.Hello,
I don’t doubt that forum contributors on a car forum are more often concerned by this kind of question, even more so as I pointed out there is probably no solution other than opening the wallet and even then.
As usual, this habit of voting wrongly here and there, more or less, distracts from the discussion, especially since the question has been properly posed in the GPS section of the forum as accessories (and not as access to this network from what you want, computer, phone… ).
We can discuss, like in other sections, its usefulness where only developers have control, but meantime, if it exists, there’s a reason for it and it is meant to be used.
