Hello everyone!

I am using Ubuntu and I would like the mouse wheel to scroll the current page faster. Basically, I want to speed up the vertical scrolling. But I can't figure out how to do it...

It's mainly for Firefox actually: on Windows, I remember that it was possible to click with the wheel, then drag up and down, there was some sort of special cursor... but it’s not available on Ubuntu...
Configuration: Ubuntu 8.04.2 Firefox 3.0.8

I don't know Gnome, but it seemed to me that this option was available...

Otherwise, have you checked the preferences in Firefox? (tab "Advanced", "General", browsing options)

    The Gnome control center?

Yes, there is indeed "mouse," but it's the same as in the menus... And I have almost everything: pointer speed and acceleration, drag and drop, double click... but not vertical scrolling.

The only thing I can do is enable/disable vertical scrolling... for my touchpad!

Unless it’s not in "mouse" that I should look?

Damn! Indeed, the "auto-scroll" checkbox gives me the special pointer! I've been looking for it in the Gnome settings for so long...

    Thank you very much!

    Hello,

This setting can be adjusted in the control center of your graphical interface.

I would like to point out that this parameter should be changed in FIREFOX in the menu: Edit/Preferences/Advanced
