Hello everyone,
I first hope that my topic is in the right category.

So here it is, in order to get the best help possible, I will detail my problem as best as I can:

I recently acquired a Samsung NC10 netbook (very good model by the way), but of course it lacks a CD/DVD drive.
I have a Rescue CD for my desktop PC that I use at work, which contains several very handy tools like Ghost, etc... (not advertising).
I’ve browsed through numerous forums discussing bootable USB drives, but I can't find my answer.

I would like my USB drive to be bootable, on one hand, with the content of my Rescue CD.

I formatted my USB drive (a relatively fast 2GB one) using Windows Explorer.
I then made it bootable with the excellent HP utility (http://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/telecharger 3673527 hp usb disk storage format tool)

This created hidden system files at the root of the USB drive, making it bootable (I tried and it works).
I then copied the contents of my CD onto my USB drive (a lengthy operation considering the 4000 files in the Windows i386 folder), but I managed to do it.

However, when I boot from my USB drive, the PC detects it well, it boots correctly from it but doesn't launch the program.
Yet I am convinced that this is possible.
Even if the USB drive doesn’t have an MBR, the HP utility simulates one.
So the issue probably doesn’t lie here.

Do you have any ideas to help me?
Is it definitively impossible?

Thank you in advance to everyone, and have a good evening.
Mimi

When you start your NC10, press F2 until you enter the BIOS :)
There, go to:
1°/ Boot
2°/ Boot Device Priority
3°/ In "[Boot priority order]" set "USB HDD" (if it's a USB stick) to position 1 using the F6 key

For USB CD drives, move "USB CD" up ;)
