My PC doesn't recognize my MP3, Samsung YP Q.

Hello, yes, here’s another topic to complain about an issue with a Samsung. I read the others but didn’t find any solutions; I bought a Samsung YP-Q1 yesterday, installed EmoDio provided with it, and my PC doesn’t recognize it. I am using Windows 2000 Pro, so there’s no way to download Windows Media Player 10 or 11 for automatic sync. I tried with the latest version of Winamp, but it doesn’t change anything.
I’ve been struggling for several hours, and I can’t find a solution (if there is one…)

    Usually, when you plug in your USB stick, Windows automatically recognizes it, but it can happen that it is recognized as an "unknown device." To have it recognized again, here’s what to do.

    First, open Windows Explorer and click on the Tools tab => Folder Options… => View, look for "hidden files and folders" in the list and check "show hidden files and folders." Then:

    1/ Right-click on the My Computer icon on the desktop and then on Properties.
    Then click on Hardware, then Device Manager.

    2/ Right-click on the line marked "unknown device" and click on Update Driver

    3/ In the hardware update wizard, choose not this time

    4/ Click Next.

    5/ Then choose Install from a list or specified location (advanced users)

    6/ Click Next.

    7/ Then click on Do not search, I will choose the drivers to install

    8/ Choose in the list of hardware USB hub

    9/ Click Next.

    10/ Click on the provided disk

    A window opens, browse and go to the folder C:/windows/inf and select the folder usbstor.inf and click Open.

    Then the path of the selected driver will appear in the previous window. Click OK. The driver will install, and you will have a line called USB Mass Storage Device.

    Maybe you now have a question mark. Repeat steps 2 to 7.

    8/ Choose in the list of hardware Storage Volume

    9/ Click Next.

    10/ Click on the provided disk

    A window opens, browse and go to the folder C:/windows/inf and select the folder volsnap.inf and click Open.

    Then the path of the selected driver will appear in the previous window. Click OK. The driver will install, and you will have a line called Generic Volume.

    And normally, if everything goes well, your USB stick is now recognized properly.

      Hello Jordan,

      I have a little problem uploading videos to my Samsung YP-Q1 MP4 and I would need your help if you don't mind. lol

      I figured out how to upload videos to my MP4, but the issue is that when I want to convert my video in Emodio (video that I already put in WMV format), it says "SelfMusicVideo has stopped working," and so the conversion to svi format doesn't happen.
      I have already uninstalled Emodio and reinstalled it, but nothing works; this message keeps appearing when I want to convert my video.

      Do you happen to know why this error message is appearing?

      How can I convert my video to svi format?

      I hope you can help me because I've been looking online every day but I still haven't managed to solve this problem, and you seem to be very skilled in this area.

      I had a problem with my yp2 since I formatted my disk, thanks to you my player is recognized again and works normally. Thank you because I was struggling for a while.

      I just bought one, I followed your instructions carefully, but when I try to search in C/windows, I can't find usbstor on my computer. Is this normal? What can I do?

    Finally, yes, it recognizes that it is a Q1 model, but it does not synchronize with Samsung software and does not have the appropriate driver...

      Yes, but when I click on devices supported by emodio, I don’t see the YP Q1 in the list, so I’m lost.

    Phew, it's finally here!! I received my 32 GB Samsung player, the YP-R1 or R'mix if you prefer, by mail today. So I connect it to the computer, everything goes well, the computer recognizes it, that's great. But I quickly calm my joy. On the (very mini) manual that comes with it, I don't find the indicated mentions and so I can't install anything at all!

    For example, it asks me to go to my computer and click on the "R1" file. Which I do without any problem, then it says Windows Media Player 11, then "Internal storage". Except that I can't find this "Internal storage" anywhere!!
    I opened Windows Media Player 11 in the hope that it would show up, but in the end, no "Internal storage" in the menus of the "R1" file on my computer, nor in Windows Media Player.

    So the installation is quite difficult in this case! Well, actually I'm a bit desperate, I paid 200€ for the player and not being able to install it hurts!

    Just for your info, the folders contained in the R1 icon: Datacasts, Flash, Music, My Pack, Pictures, Playlists, Recorded Files, Shared Data, System, Texts, and Video. There you go, and still no "Internal Storage"

    Thank you if you can help me because honestly, I'm really frustrated.

    Here is a simple method for installing Windows Media 11
    1- Download wmp11-windowsxp-x86-FR-FR.exe
    2- Right-click the mouse and click on extract here
    3- Then run the wmp11.exe
    4- Restart your PC
