The requirements for the discovery of the Samsung YP-U3 player by Windows XP
Windows Media Player version 10 minimum
Service Pack 2 for Windows
the usbstor.inf file in version 5.1.2600
if despite all this it is still not discovered, reinstall Media Player version 11, reboot your machine and connect the player.

Yes, hello, I would like to install my Samsung YP-U3 MP3 player, but I don't have Windows XP, just Windows 2000, and I don't want to reinstall the operating system; do you know where I can find another driver that works with my version of Windows?
Thank you.

Hi, I have the same problem with my Samsung yp-T10 too.
When I connect it, my PC doesn't recognize it and asks for a driver (which I'm looking for).
I have XP Pro 1 as the version, is it too old?

A priori, to use a Samsung YP-U3 mp3 player, you need to use the Samsung Media Studio software that opens automatically once the USB key is connected.

To download Samsung Media Studio:
http://www.samsung.com/fr/support/productsupport/download/index.aspx

then in TV Video Audio/mp3 player select your mp3 model.

Samsung Media Studio is stated to work on 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista.

However, I also encounter problems installing Samsung Media Studio, which crashes entirely on Windows 98SE with an error message regarding "the MSVCRT.dll file related to a missing export of the type: .dll...VersionNumbers". I am then forced to reinstall Windows 98SE after deleting the MSVCRT.dll file in DOS: c:\windows\system\del MSVCRT.dll.

Good luck

Hello everyone,

I have a big problem with this software. I bought it with the Samsung YP-T10 and installed it. The problem is that I can't load music onto my player. I think my computer doesn't recognize it because the "device" icon is transparent. What could I do? Where does this problem come from?

Thank you

Hi,
I would like to know if the Samsung YP-U3 MP3 player works on iMac because the application is on a small disk and it can't be inserted into a CD drive, and at Darty they say it works on the iMac but the application doesn't work and it's irritating to say the least.

Good evening,

I have the same issue with the SAMSUNG YP-U3, running Windows 98 SP2. I have updated all the necessary installations: Explorer, Microsoft .net Framework, DirectX, Media Player. The software works fine. My problem is with the recognition of the Samsung key: I connect it, Windows detects a new entry, and asks me for the drivers that I do not have! Is there a solution (like other people before) to find a Windows 98 driver for this MP3 key?

Thank you in advance.

Environment: Windows 98 SP2.
Problem: No driver for this key in this environment.

I'm starting to believe that these readers are really crap... the best thing would be to find someone for whom it works, but well... there aren't many on this forum, which is normal. When you've updated all the programs, installed everything you're asked to, and it still doesn't work, it's annoying. What I don't understand is that a simple USB stick is recognized immediately by my PC, and the reader, which plugs into the same port, is not recognized, how is that possible? I've come to believe that it's a defect in the device...

In fact, for your computer to detect it, you need to go to the control panel, then switch to classic view, and go to add hardware
click next and plug in your MP3
I did that with mine and it works.

Thank you juju, your recipe worked well for me, my computer did not recognize the YP-U3J either as a player or as a USB stick. I went through "add hardware" and both issues are resolved, I see it as hardware in my computer and I can sync it via Windows Media Player 11. Hello everyone, well, good luck!

Well, I had the same problem as you, couldn't handle that damn YP-U3 on my PC, and I tried to install WMP 11... I gave up. But after I installed the latest version of Winamp, Samsung Media Studio detected the MP3 player...
I don't know if it's related, and I'm really too much of a loser to say...
One strange thing is that at that moment, Samsung PC Studio also launched (the software that manages my phone, which is also a Samsung...)
So there might be a connection too, but oh well...
Anyway, it finally works on my end.
I'll keep you updated if I understand things a bit better soon.
Hang in there. Don't pull your hair out too much!

Hello,
Thank you for the information, but could you please specify which version of Windows you are using? I am unable to install version 5.1 of WinAmp on Win98 SP2, as WinAmp informs me that it does not support this version, while the compatibility states that it is indeed compatible.
Thank you.
