Hello,
here is my problem, I have a Logitech QuickCam that records my videos and compresses them in AV50 format, creating an AVI file.
When I try to open it with VLC, I only get the sound (since VLC doesn't support it), but when I double-click on it, it opens with Winamp and I get everything.
Actually, I would like to know if there is a way to record them directly in AVI so I can open them with VLC and possibly send them to my friends.
Without it being too complicated as I am not a computer pro.
Thank you in advance.
Gilles

GSpot tells me that the codec is already installed, and I checked in the device manager and it is indeed there. VLC says it can't read it, and there's nothing to be done. How can I play it other than through Winamp?
I searched for quite a while and I found something that works really well; you just have to convert them with "Prism Video Converter".
Hello
Exactly, it works with Prism Video Converter, but there is also Virtual Dub (version 1.6.9 in French) which reads these files, converts them, and allows for editing/touch-ups ;-)
Once converted, you can play them with VLC or other players.

Just a note, I am using Windows 7-64, and you need to install VirtualDub in XP compatibility mode (2)
