Hello everyone,

I just saw thanks to the antivirus that I have lots of files still in the "$recycle bin" but I have nothing left in the regular recycle bin. How do we access these files and delete them?

Thanks in advance

    Good evening,

I will explain to you step by step how I proceeded.

So first, go to My Computer then to your C:\ drive.
Press "alt" and a menu should appear at the top of the page. Go to the Tools tab then Folder Options (at the bottom).

Next, go to the second tab at the top "View".

In the list, check "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck the box "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"

    Then click ok.

The file "$Recycle.Bin" should appear at the top.

Open it and delete what you want to delete.

Then redo the steps in reverse to hide the hidden files again....

If you have any questions, feel free to ask

    See you later

You need to not only check the box to show hidden files but also, a little further down the list, uncheck the one that says: hide protected operating system files.
After that, you should see the recycle.BIN appear.
Don't forget to recheck the boxes in the tools menu, as this avoids the risk of errors in case of normal operation.

      Good luck.
