Black screen and siren noise

Question

Hello,
I am writing to you because I have a problem.
I have a desktop PC with a central unit that dates back to 2003, the motherboard is from NVidia, the processor is 1.5gh (Pentium 4), and I think it's AMD. The issue is that when I start the PC, there is a black screen with a siren noise coming from the tower, and I see that the hard drive LED shows no activity. I would like to know if it's the processor that is faulty or if one of the other components on the motherboard is faulty.
If my tower is faulty, do you think I should buy another motherboard or a processor?

Hello,  It happened to me, it's probably the motherboard. A Pentium 4 is definitely not an AMD (they're competitors). Specify how your computer beeps (in seconds, etc.)  Aymeric

Hello, so for the main question which is where the problem comes from, it might be that your hard drive is damaged (I had the same issue and my tower was beeping) in which case you need to replace it.
If your tower is dead, and the PC is 5 years old, it might be best to invest in new hardware...

I just changed the motherboard battery, and since then it's working fine

But it can come from a lot of things, check the RAM and look at the capacitors on your motherboard, if too many are bulging with acid leaking from the top, it could be coming from there, but it's not certain.

So I found the motherboard reference, it's: A7N266-VM then for the BIOS, I'm almost sure it's Phoenix, just to remind the main question: I have a continuous fire truck siren noise and my screen is black, so Windows does not start.

Isn't that the anti-theft alarm?? Oops, I'm leaving! You didn't mess around with your BIOS, did you? If you can still access it, reset everything to default.

I have exactly the same problem and I can't figure out where it comes from. Apparently, it might be the processor that is poorly inserted or damaged since you mentioned having a siren which means repeated High/Low beeps... However, after asking some experts, I was told that it was very unlikely especially if it's an INTEL...

Hi, first of all, does your PC have dust on the components?

Secondly, check if the battery is dead, but I don't think that's the issue since it only serves to retain the BIOS settings; otherwise, it would revert to factory settings, but that doesn't prevent the components from functioning.

Thirdly, how did this happen to you? What were you doing with your computer before it happened?

P.S. I have the same problem, and I'm sending it to an expert to test the motherboard, and I'll let you know more tonight.

PS I have a system controller on the board with diodes, and they are all red, and I wanted to add a speaker to the motherboard and when I turned it back on, I noticed it didn't make any sound.
