Hello,
Each time I start my computer, CHKDSK runs and gets stuck at step 3/3 Security Descriptors. To access my PC, I have to press escape before CHKDSK starts.
The problem started last week when the PC began freezing and restarting on its own... I went on some forums but didn't find reliable answers, THANK YOU.
I don't know what to do to make CHKDSK run properly or to disable it.

Thank you for your response, but the 5 boxes were unchecked and the normal startup was already selected.
And I think that if CHKDSK is highly recommended, it should be done; however, I would like to find a way to make it possible without it blocking.

Good evening Laurrent,
Go to start, run, type msconfig in the general tab, check normal startup and apply, in the boot.ini tab make sure the 5 boxes are unchecked apply and ok.
See you!

Go to the scheduled tasks and see if there is anything related.
Go to the workstation, right-click on your disk, properties, tools, check, check both boxes and start, we'll see if it manages to finish.

He is unable to finish, nor to start, he tells me:
The disk check could not be completed.... requires exclusive access... next time you reboot your system?

Try it in safe mode. Normally, yes, you need to restart, I don't know if that's the message you have? But this time, it's you who programmed it, so I hope it will change something.
A+

I had tried programming it, and I don't care about two things: the first one, which bothers me, and the second one: that I programmed. I don't know how to make it work properly, there's something blocking at the level of the security descriptors.

Go here: Start, run, type regedit ok, click on the small + each time to expand: HKLocalMachine/
System/ Current Control Set/ Control/ click on Session manager. In the right window, look for Boot Execute, right-click on the line, modify, the value should be autocheck autochk * (make sure to respect lowercase and space after the k), then click on edit refresh, view and exit.
Before doing this, try to defragment and see if the first one finishes. Normally, this happens when the hard drive shows signs of weakness.

I did a Windows repair, and now I have an error message at startup saying that the system is not working and that I need to do a repair.
