Hello,
I have a problem with an external drive: Vista advises me to run CHKDSK because
several files may be corrupted.
When I run "chkdsk c:" and even better "CHKDSK C: /F /R", I get the response:
"Access denied, you do not have sufficient privileges.
You must invoke this utility in an elevated mode"

Yet, my account is an administrator

(I tried to run the disk check via "properties", but nothing happens for this one, unlike the others, hence my desire to use chkdsk)

Thanks to everyone for your help.
Best regards.

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.0.14

Good evening. I think you are on Vista, I've seen this problem before.

Actually, you need to run your command window as an administrator:
Instead of launching your command prompt by double-clicking it, do a right-click / "run as..." and choose "Next User" and --> Administrator
Then you will have the rights to run your CHKDSK on your disks
(Thanks Vista)

You have 106 keys on your keyboard, use them! Your PC is not a mobile phone!
