Reconnect my PS3 using RCA after HDMI

You have to keep pressing the button to hear the 2 beeps, and don't hesitate to insist.
Very barbaric as a method but it works. ;-)

When the button on your PS3 is red, press and hold the button until you hear a second beep.
Wait 15 seconds and your screen will reset itself; at first, it may flicker but then it will be fine.

I have a PS3 like you all. I always used it in HDMI and one day I turned on the PS3 as usual, played for a bit, then went to eat.
When I came back, nothing, BLACK SCREEN. I left it on. I thought it overheated, so I turned it off and turned it back on, still nothing.
Basically, my PS3 works at Micromania in HDMI.
And it doesn’t work at my place.
My brother’s laptop works in HDMI on my TV, so it’s not my TV that has a problem.
I configured everything on the PS3, nothing. I reset it, nothing. I did the two beeps, still nothing. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks for your reply.

I'm also interested in your reset method.
I'm in the same situation.
I configured my PS3 on the HDMI port.
Currently, I'm traveling with the PS3 using the RCA cable.
I didn't take the time to switch the configuration back to RCA before unplugging the PS.
I'm stuck with a PS that I can't use.

I saw a forum saying that by turning off the PS after a certain time and then turning it back on, it automatically detects the plugged cable.
I did that, but it didn't work for me.

Any other tips would therefore be very valuable.

I just bought a used PS3 from a private seller. Once the console was plugged in, I turned it on, but there was no signal. Since I have a working PS2, I tried the RCA cable from the PS2 on the PS3, but it didn't work.

According to your replies, it just requires a change of configuration in the PS3 menu, as rossi46du77 mentioned. However, the solution he provided only applies to those who still have an HDMI television. My situation is different. I suspect the previous owner used the console with HDMI, but I only have RCA and no way to connect it via HDMI, so I have no access to the PS3 menu since I don't have any return signal.

My question is, aside from finding someone with an HDMI television, how can I reset the console?

Yes, it resets, but it doesn't format, don't worry ;-)

oh yeah damn I'm stupid... well normally when it's off, you press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, and you hear two beeps, then it's good it's reset.

Turn on the console while holding down the button with which you turned on the console until you hear one or two beeps! It works; I have a PS3 slim and had the same problem. If it doesn't work for you, then there is an issue with the console itself. It should work!

Simply hold down the power button for 5 seconds when your PS3 is on (or off, I can't remember) and POUF initial display settings!

No, it's fine, I just changed the display settings; it took 30 seconds, but you have to think about that before making changes, LOL.

I'm repeating what I said above, namely that I have no view of the menu, no visual signal, so no possibility to go to settings => restore default settings. Do you have another solution?
