Hello,
I bought an Easypix Cyberscanner for slides. When installing the driver and the printing software from Arcsoft Software Suite "Photoimpression 6", there was a bug: a file could not be installed. I then uninstalled everything, but a window saying "ArcCon - component not found" appears at regular intervals telling me that "this application could not start because ArcCon is missing. Reinstalling this application may fix the problem." I did that: nothing improved. I was also offered to look for a solution online, but that led nowhere.
No solution on the ArcSoft website either.
Strangely, this scanner has been registered in my scanner list under the name "Xerox WorkCentre Pro", which is completely different hardware according to Xerox's website.
And still these two windows keep coming up endlessly... it's driving me crazy!!!
Who can help me? Thank you in advance.

Hello, I'm attaching a little "user manual" that I sent to many people to whom I sold this device. I only received one feedback regarding a mechanical problem.
First of all, I remind you of the installation rules: the drivers and restart the PC, install PhotoImpression and restart the computer. After restarting and not before, plug in the scanner. Upon startup, the first scan should be done automatically by the scanner without any document inside.
Then, you insert negatives or slides. It works equally well with either one.
When you have opened Photoshop, click on "Acquire Photo," "Acquire from Film Scanner." Once it's open, select OVT scanner and make your adjustments. Then press the button on the scanner or click on Snap Shot. Then click on transfer and the photo will go into the selected folder.
Check that you have it in My Computer. If not, it means the drivers are not installed or are improperly installed. What I recommend is to redo the installation.
Then here’s a link to download a different version of Photoshop that works very well on XP and should resolve your problem:

Keep me updated.

I have problems with reading negatives. Arcsoft Scan does not convert them into photos, but always keeps them as negatives.
Thank you for your response.
Thank you for your response.
I notice that I am not the only one having issues with the installation of this Easypix slide scanner. I am unable to acquire correct and colorful slides. I deleted and reinstalled the software, same problems. Discouraged, I am returning the device I received this week to the supplier, Conrad. It is unacceptable to put such devices on the market that are so difficult to connect with instructions so brief that it becomes impossible to follow a straightforward correction procedure. I wonder if all these devices are properly checked at the end of the production line. This is not good publicity for this manufacturer.
Oops, I validated without finishing.
Thank you in advance for the answers you can provide me.
Have a good evening.
Marie.

I managed to install the software and it works. However, I can only scan 3 slides, after that, it's impossible. I have to turn off the computer and start over. I can't scan more than 3 slides!!! Turn off the computer and start over!!! So there is obviously a bug!
Thank you for the response. Renting a scanner is certainly the right solution. Nice!
Have a great day.

same situation for equipment purchased a few weeks ago.
I regret discovering this problem so late.
The only solution is probably to revert to the previous restore point of Vista.
In my case, Photoimpression6 cannot find the driver, which is correctly installed!.
Thank goodness the system is Vista!.

I received a SUMIKRON slide and negative scanner delivered with Arcsoft Impression 6. The scanner only works on USB2, which is not mentioned anywhere, but once installed correctly, it is accessible with photo software. The problem is the conversion of the negative or slide into a correct image (not everyone has Photoshop). ArcSoft Impression 6 is supposed to do this conversion automatically, but it conflicts with "live video" management software for cameras. You need to temporarily disable these programs to use ArcSoft Impression 6. ArcSoft gives no indication because they want to sell their 6.5 version, which may fix this bug.
Does anyone know an equivalent free software? Thank you.

in my case, under Vista, the driver is installed (control panel >>> system > device).
Use an image program that has a 'acquire an image from a scanner' function, after selecting the TWAIN driver (of the scanner) for example Irfanview. ...
With PhotoFiltre:
File > TWAIN Import > Select Source
then File > TWAIN Import > Scan a Page . ...
you must absolutely have XP SP2 and usb 2.0it's clear and straightforward.

Hello,
My grandparents bought a digital scanner "Yes you scan" Film scanner
I'm freaking out:
I installed everything on XP 2, I followed the instructions, I scanned the 3 slides for the first time, then I connected the scanner to the PC via USB, I managed to access the photos via My Computer / removable drive, copy and paste into a folder, corrected with Picasa 3. It was perfect.
I went back two days later, they couldn’t get it to work, I repeated the same operation, and then sometimes it didn't scan, sometimes the slides wouldn't even show up, after an hour, pressing buttons everywhere, unplugging and re-plugging, it started working again, I scanned, and the photos appeared perfectly in the preview in My Computer / removable drive but as soon as I opened them they were decomposed and blurry.....
This is the second one they bought, the first one at Homme Moderne, I had them return it to the sender....
But this one worked..... It’s all very blurry.
As for the TV version: I plug in the cable, the photos from the tray appear but in unreadable quality as they are so pixelated.
I then installed Photo Impression 6, I clicked "Acquire images" from OVT Scanner but the button is inactive and the device apparently isn't installed correctly, so I downloaded the driver as advised above but still nothing. Does anyone have a solution? This product seems very practical but how do you fix or reset all this? Thank you very much. Pascale

Hello
A year ago, I was given a slide scanner, an EASYPIX Cyber Scanner. I finally have time to use it, and I installed it under Vista. No installation problems: I installed the provided driver and then the Arcsoft Software Suite provided. As expected, I got an icon on the desktop. Now, it's possible that Vista searched for and installed another driver...
At first, the usage was a disaster... all the slides were too light, and I couldn't calibrate the scanner. There is indeed a calibration button that appears at a certain moment, but it is transparent and thus inaccessible. As someone explained before me on this site, once the computer is running and the Photo Impression 6 software is operating, I plug in the scanner. Since it doesn't seem to perform automatic calibration at startup, I scan for the first time without a slide. Unfortunately... the same goes for the colors of the slides, too light.
I then make the following choices: slide - 24 colors - 1800 DPI. I then acquire and adjust the format in the scanner window to 320 x 240. At this point, the scans are good and the colors of the slides are too. Obviously, it's not extra quality, but it's okay. My photo prints from my slides are 100 times more beautiful... If it's too dark, I switch to format 640 x 480. So, if anyone has any better suggestions... In summary, I only have 2 possible and fixed qualities. After that, for those who want to have some fun, there is image retouching. Good luck to everyone and long life to this site.

The installation menu of the CD displays:
-DRIVER for WIN 98
-ARCSOFT SOFTWARE SUITE
-DIRECTX 9.0
-ADOBE READER 7.0
-USER'S MANUAL
-BROWSE THE CD
I doubt that this CD is programmed to install under VISTA
So what is the solution?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled at least 8 times. I still don't have a driver installed and therefore cannot acquire photos via a film scanner.

Check that you have it in the computer's workstation. If not, it means the drivers are not installed or are poorly installed. What I recommend is to redo an installation.
Then a link to download a different version of Photoshop, which works very well on XP and should fix your problem:

I have the same problem... impossible to find a solution. I'm going to send it back and order something else. What a shame!
Same problem. This "device" worked very well with my XP but Windows 7 doesn't seem to want to accept it... Impossible to open.
Where is the solution if there is one, or the dump? Thank you for replying to the poor 88-year-old retiree....
Friz.

I had the same problem, and by chance, I have an HP C3100 printer with the free software available for download on their site:
HP SOLUTION CENTER 130 0 44 62
then go to home and transfer images, there you will find the OVT scanner
beforehand, it is preferable to install the 32 or 64-bit driver depending on your configuration
but I assure you it works while the suite delivered with the device does not recognize
the scanner under Seven.
Good luck and don't get discouraged.

I just acquired this Mer... full price. With the installation method from
König Electronic http://www.nedis.nl/manuals/NLNED/WIN7_INSTALLATIE_CMP-FIMSCAN10.PDF. Windows 7 recognizes the scanner, but when I request the acquisition, I only get the message "General failure in transfer bad info header. Bad value error."

Solutions to get the Yes We Scan YWS01 slide scanner from INOVAXION and ArcSoft Photo Impression working with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
With the Yes We Scan YWS01 slide scanner connected via USB to a Windows XP PC, it took hours of hassle to install after uninstalling and reinstalling the driver and ArcSoft Photo Impression software, and it never worked!
Conclusions: With the original CD Yes We Scan from INOVAXION.com, it’s pointless to insist; once installed, the driver is never recognized by the image management software "ArcSoft Photo Impression". A pity for ArcSoft, but the results are conclusive.
What works very well, taking into account and compiling advice found here and there on the web, is using "BLAZE PHOTO" with the following order (important):
1. First, it is important to unplug all other devices connected to the other USB ports (webcams, etc...); don’t ask me why, but when my webcam was connected, it did not work for the installation ...
2. Especially DO NOT CONNECT the YWS film-slide scanner.
3. Install only the driver first using the "PHOTO2FILEdriver" program, which installs the driver for the "OVT SCANNER X86" and the "apl531" file in the list of windows XP drivers. The updated program from September 2010 can be found on the site: https://6500leyland.com/ on the page: http://spectareproducts.com/support/PhotoSaver/PhotoSaver-drivers-FILM.html
Download the program here: http://spectareproducts.com/support/PhotoSaver/UPDATE_NOV2010/Photo2FileDriver.exe
4. Restart the PC.

I only installed the driver provided on the CD, but apparently it is only for Windows 98.
What should I do?
You still haven't said how to install the driver when using VISTA
The installation program only accommodates Windows 98! ...And I still can't install the driver
Thank you for giving me the right solution.
You still don't say how to install the EASYPIX driver when using VISTA.
