Many have faced this volume and menu issue. Personally, I managed to resolve it by turning on the TV and pressing the "P/C" button at the same time. This brings up the menu. You need to navigate down to "volume" using the down arrow (you might need to confirm with "ok" but I'm not sure, try without first...) and press the "volume +" button. Finish by confirming with "ok".
