IPod Shuffle charging issue

Solved

Good evening, I've been trying to recharge my iPod Shuffle (1 GB with the clip to hook everywhere) for two days now.
When I connect it to my PC, it FLASHES orange.
I've done a lot of research and nothing indicates what I'm really looking for.
I charged it for 4 hours nonstop and nothing is working, the battery is like "empty."

I would like to know how to charge it.
P.S.: I have a special iPod cable to recharge it.

And I would like to know, when charging it, do we set the button to on or off? Here it is :(:(
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0

    Hello,

The charging of an iPod Shuffle can display three indicators:
Solid orange: The shuffle is charging
Solid green: The shuffle is fully charged
Blinking orange: The shuffle is connected in disk mode.

To check if the Shuffle is charged, I open iTunes, disable disk mode, then click the eject button in the left sidebar. The green light will then turn on if it has finished charging.

      Hello,

Can you explain to me how to find the location to modify this hard drive activation?

      Thank you,

      Hello,
I had the same issue: connect your shuffle and go to My Computer, look for your shuffle under removable disk, mine is called "G", then right-click on the letter and choose "eject" from the list, the light will turn green again if the battery is fully charged.

      See you later!

Hello, I also just got one and I was so happy to have it that I plugged it in to charge for 4 hours as indicated.
In the end, nothing at all, and while looking around, I came across this forum that helped me a lot regarding the eject position! I'm doing alright so far! Except that when I eject it, it turns solid green, I'm thinking great, music time for me! But when I turn it on, it’s green and then it flashes orange before turning off! What should I conclude from this, 0 charge?! When just 5 minutes ago it was green?
Thanks in advance for any responses!

The problem for me is that the iShuffle is continuously green when connected to the PC, but when I disconnect it, it isn't charged...

Right-click on the external hard drive -> 'eject', the problem is solved.

First of all, thank you mkt2603 for your explanation =) . I am currently using your reasoning. So far, everything is working as you said. However, I would also like to know how long it takes for a battery to charge to 100% so that I can quickly check if everything is working to let you know that it’s going well. See you!

I bought a cable and when I plug it in, it says that it doesn't recognize the thing and that it's impossible to open it.

    Hello,

I'm following up on the subject because I have a problem: I have a 3G iPod (the tiny one without buttons) and I accidentally lost the tiny cable that syncs it with the Mac. I bought a tiny USB/Jack adapter online, but they say it works interchangeably on the 2G and 3G shuffles. So, in the meantime, I modified the dock of my 2G iPod shuffle (I removed the bump in the middle of the dock) to connect my 3G to it... And... it doesn't work.

Do you know if these tiny adapters really work for both?

    I'll put a link:

    Thanks for your answers!

Download the software iTunes and install it, after that your computer will have permission to charge your iPod (there's a small chip in the support).

Instead of golden same problem read what we wrote as an answer or possibly look at other forums to avoid drifting on all subjects.

      Go to iTunes and restore
It will reset the correct configurations on your iPod.

I have the same problem, bought at the beginning of January, managed to charge it only once and since then nothing. I brought it back to where I bought it, they supposedly did an update which was supposed to fix it, but unfortunately NO, to my great despair, what should I do???

Hi, you need to download and sign up (it's free), you just need a payment method if you buy on iTunes. After you sign up, you just need to plug in your device and it charges, but be careful that your iPod is synced with iTunes. You’ll see it's hard at first, but after 2 or 3 days, it's perfect and you'll manage easily!

The iPod takes three hours to charge to 100%.

Same problem with a 3G, when charging it flashes orange, the voice is babbling something I can't figure out, and who knows where the music is!
I went through iShuffle, same battery charging issue.
Should I keep it or smash it under a hammer on the anvil? Honestly, it would make me happy.
