IPod Shuffle green and orange light

Solved

Hello,

I just acquired a 1GB iPod Shuffle. I just put some music on it and charged it via my laptop. The problem I have is that when I try to turn it on (Play/Pause), the indicators blink for 10 seconds in green and orange and nothing happens. I've tried all the buttons, but they don't give the same result. They stay green.

I did a software update, I checked the support website, but nothing addresses this problem: alternating green and orange light...

Any advice, please?
Thank you.
Brioche.
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 2.0.0.12

Good evening, I just solved my problem, the same as yours, I went to:
my computer -> removable disk (the one for the iPod) -> right-click then format.
Formatting the iPod allowed me to return to iTunes and let me put my music back.
I hope I was able to help you.

And what do we do if the iPod is not visible in My Computer but is visible in iTunes to format it?

Do we necessarily have to include songs from iTunes?

    Hi,

so for me it's not quite the same as the other problems I've read about lol
my iPod is recognized when I plug it into my PC and when I open iTunes it charges properly since I can see it in the left column.
I put my music on it, in "content" I can see the songs I've added, and when I disconnect it to listen to them, I press play and a green then orange light starts blinking for about 4 seconds and I can't listen to my music at all.

Also just before that happened, I had plugged in my iPod to add some songs and I received a message saying it was corrupted and I needed to restore it :( which I did, and it also prompted me for an update that I completed.
And since then, it's been a disaster ...

by the way, we're talking about the iPod shuffle (the small one), right?

Have you resolved your problem because my iPod shuffle is showing the same "symptoms"? I converted all the files to AAC but that wasn't enough.

Yes, I kind of solved my problem. Since it was still under warranty, I took it back to the store, which sent it to Apple. It took about 2 weeks, and it works beautifully now, lol.

Kairie21, I have the same problem as you, look when I plug it into my computer and when I open iTunes it recognizes it since I can see it in the left column.

And when I turn it on and press play it has a green light then an orange light starts flashing for about 4 seconds after that I can't do anything, nothing happens..

      What do I do :(.

Personally, I have a rather different problem: when I turn on my iPod Shuffle, it flashes green so I can change songs, pause or use VoiceOver. The issue is that after a few seconds, my status light blinks three times orange; the music continues to play, but I can't use any buttons anymore.

For those who are interested in the answer, I managed to get it to work. In fact, the iPod must work with an AAC format, a format that can be found on the iTunes software offered by Apple. Without this format, there is no possibility of playing files from an iPod shuffle, but possibly also from other products of the brand. It was important to know, something that could be noted in the manual...

    Have a good evening.

Sorry to dig up an old topic, but you can use ishuffle to directly put your mp3s on the iPod. I do it with my 2nd generation shuffle and it's perfect.

      Hi,

I have the same problem. Flashing green and orange light. I've tried the settings menu and formatting. I'm being told that the remote server could not be found. However, I am well connected with a good bandwidth. By the way, I'm using Windows Vista.

      I await your responses.

I bought the iPod shuffle, you need to download iTunes to be able to put songs on it.
After you've added songs, if it's blinking green and orange... it means you have a song that doesn't match the right format, delete it and normally everything will work again!! There you go, bye!

I solved my problem without sending back my iPod shuffle! In iTunes, click on the SETTINGS tab and format your iPod! Yes, your music will be lost...

I have another problem: when my mp3 is charging, it blinks an orange light, and when it is charging, it is orange.
On top of that, I don't know how long it takes to charge an mp3.
    Thank you in advance.

Hello, I have a problem with my iPod; when I tilt it on my PC, it doesn't charge, and the Apple logo flickers and changes colors, and it doesn't connect to the computer. What should I do?
