HP6730s graphics card issue

Hello,

I just purchased an HP 6730s laptop that is supposed to be equipped with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD3410 graphics card. The problem is that this graphics card doesn't seem to be recognized: first of all, it doesn't appear in the device manager, and in the graphics card tab, I have the Intel Media Graphics driver...

I tried uninstalling the Intel driver, but that didn't work, and I also tried installing an ATI driver, but that didn't change anything either...

Could it be related to the chipset that is being managed strangely by HP...

Thank you for your help.

YOU NEED TO REINSTALL THE CHIPSET OF YOUR MOTHERBOARD AND THEN INSTALL THE DRIVERS FOR YOUR CARD.

are you sure you didn't have the same problem as me?
because I went to return the PC due to false advertising from the store,

I have the same problem on my side and it's very difficult to know who made the mistake as HP and the seller are passing the buck.
According to the seller, HP should recall the laptops and he says it will take a long time. He refuses to refund and offers a store credit instead.
No one really wants to take responsibility and it's quite regrettable, even illegal.

    1) So let's make some noise on the forums to try to get HP moving, what do you think? For now, everything is unclear, HP support itself doesn't know if the machine has the infamous ATI or not. We will make them dig a little, the situation is absurd.

    2) The solution proposed by Hitman seems a bit confusing, has anyone successfully applied it? Which drivers should be installed and in what order... could you clarify a bit?

    3) If you don't already own a 6730s and are tempted by the model, walk away; the Intel GMA4500 graphics card is almost as dramatic as the X3100. The seller tried to make it seem like the model exceeded the ATI HD3430, but fortunately notebookcheck.net is here!
    https://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html
    Average score 3dmark06: 1052... I got 670.

Thanks for reading and don't forget: make some noise... HP will only offer a solution if they're afraid of losing money... for now, they don't care about us.

It's not theft, the thing is you buy a computer for €600 without even checking beforehand. If you had spent 2 minutes on the internet instead of 15 minutes making a snap decision on your computer, you would have seen that there is no graphics card in the HP 6730s, it's simply a chipset!
If it's not a computer for video games, you can still do what you need to do with it.

      Hello,
for your information, I complained to HP and it turns out it was an error on the HP site advertisement which has been corrected by them since then.
I thought the seller was at fault, but no.
An arrangement between me and HP has been made.
And yes, I spent more than 2 minutes on the site.
Before speaking, you should get informed.

Hello everyone, I have a serious brightness problem with the screen of my HP Compaq 6730s running Windows Vista, which I recently purchased. No matter how much I try to install all the necessary drivers for adjusting the brightness (HP Quick Launch Button fn + f7 or f8), it just doesn't work. I had tried the beta versions of Windows 7 from build 7000 to build 7058, and the adjustment would work simply by installing HP Quick Launch Button, but today when I tested the build 7068 of Windows 7, the same problem I had under Vista reappeared. It's really annoying to work with a stable brightness, please help me.

Hello everyone, I just bought an HP 6730s 3 or 4 days ago, it was working perfectly until I started playing Assassin's, it began to lag, then it crashed and displayed a blue screen with writing, now when I start the laptop after the logo loading, it gets stuck on a black screen and when I press enter, it restarts but the same problem occurs. Please, if anyone can help me as soon as possible, I would be grateful.
