Hello,
I have a MIO C510 E GPS and the battery is starting to show significant signs of weakness.
Does anyone know how to replace the battery? And especially where to find a replacement battery at a good price?
Thank you for your valuable advice. Best regards.

The replacement operation is relatively simple, provided you proceed methodically. The prerequisite is to have the right Phillips screwdriver.
To check this, simply unscrew one of the two Phillips screws on the GPS base; the four screws holding the back of the GPS are the same size.
1st step:
You need to vertically remove the 4 black rubber covers located at the four corners, using a pin it’s very easy.
You then have access to the four Phillips screws holding the back of the GPS, but before unscrewing them, you need to perform the 2nd step.
2nd step:
To simplify your work, you should unscrew the two Phillips screws from the base.
3rd step:
You can unscrew the four Phillips screws with the GPS lying flat. To remove the back, you need to insert a flat screwdriver or the blade of a knife into
the slot on the right separating the back from the front of the GPS; by inserting it into this space, you can lift the back.
During the process, the "jumper" of the on/off switch will fall out, keep it.
So once the back is removed, you will be like in the 1st attached photo.
4th step:
You need to unplug the battery connector from its socket; to access it, you must remove the small black sticky paper that covers it.
5th step:
You should peel off the battery; it is held in place by double-sided tape, so lifting from the right will allow you to completely detach it.
6th step:
Connect the new battery with its connector and replace the small black sticky paper.
7th step:
Now you adhere the new battery using the double-sided tape left on the circuit.
The 2nd attached photo shows the result.
8th step:
You put the back on, but first, you need to replace the "jumper" of the on/off switch, then you can screw in the four Phillips screws.
Replace the base and screw in the two Phillips screws, then insert the four small round rubber pieces vertically.
You need to fully charge the battery (green light on).
But honestly, I do not recommend these methods and I suggest a new GPS. You can get a new Mio GPS, they aren't expensive anymore. With only €50, you can get one. GPS from this brand are relevant and precise. Moreover, they come with lifetime updates. For more information, visit the Mio website http://eu.mio.com.

Hello,
I don't want to bring you down, but to replace the battery, you need to open the GPS and most likely desolder the old one to put in a new one, and given the compactness of the device, good luck!!
The other issue is that there is no battery available for sale, at least I haven't found one.
The simplest thing is to return it to customer service for a battery replacement, or to be an expert in electronics to install another compatible battery.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your explanations and follow-up on
the response. I proceeded as instructed and did not encounter
any particular issues when replacing the battery. There is
indeed no soldering required.
Best wishes for this new year 2009 to all. Best regards.

That's a good question because I replaced the battery of my Mio Moov S505 about 3 or 4 years ago, but now the battery won't charge anymore, and I'm faced with two choices: either change the GPS or buy a new battery. However, since the screen won't turn on even though the green light is on when plugged in, I want to know if a dead battery can prevent a GPS from functioning.
Hello,
to change the battery of the Mio C510 GPS... Simple!
At the four corners, remove the small round black rubber pieces vertically,
using a pin, for example.
You will have access to four cross-head screws that you unscrew.
Lift the rear cover by applying slight pressure, and your
device is open.
The battery is adhered to almost the entire surface by a rather strong sticker.
Using leverage, slowly peel it off at several points while applying a bit of force, there is resistance, the glue is strong!
To disconnect the plug, you need to remove the small sticker previously located above said plug.
And that's it!
I purchased the battery from Amazon: 17.12 euros, including shipping,
by strictly adhering to the voltage and mAh mentioned on the battery. IMPORTANT!!!
Best regards.
