Hello,

I would like to ask for your help please. A friend gave me his defective PSP slim and lite, and the warranty no longer works.
When I turn it on, the sound works fine and I can navigate the menus (according to the buttons), but there is no image. The screen remains black. I bought a new screen and replaced it, but the problem remains the same. So the fault does not come from the screen. I tried the R + Power combination, but nothing happened.
If someone can help me, I would be very grateful.

Thank you

Hello everyone, the solution to your problem is simple. You need to disassemble your PSP and check the connection of your screen to the motherboard. I had the same issue, and by moving the screen ribbon, the image came back. This problem is usually caused by a shock to the screen. There you go!!!

How do you take apart your PSP?
(I'm not very skilled in this area)

Pourquoi tu n'as pas demandé à ton ami comment il a fait ça ?

He said he made some tweaks to be able to play games, otherwise, since he isn't very careful, it's also possible that the PSP took a hit.

I have exactly the same problem, everything seems to work but the screen stays completely black so I can only use it to listen to music... If anyone has an idea...
Thanks in advance.

Bristled PSP, what to do? Here’s the solution

Recently, you can modify anything and everything in the XMB of your PSP, wallpaper, themes, waves, battery... etc
Customization has reached an unimaginable level!!
Of course, with all these changes, you access (Flash 0), which constitutes a near-certain risk of bricking....
In this article, I’ll explain what a bricked PSP is, how it gets bricked, and especially how to fix it....
I won't make it complicated like all the specialized sites; it’s gibberish for beginners, so let’s go......
What is a bricked PSP?
It’s a PSP that turns on but doesn’t display the icons of the XMB menu,
or in the second case, it’s a PSP that turns on and only displays a black screen, and turns off after 1 minute....
How (Why) does a PSP get bricked:
Generally due to a wrong manipulation in the (Flash 0) of the PSP... thanks to custom firmwares, you can modify an incredible number of things (icons, fonts, themes, menu text.....and many other things), generally the most important folders of Flash 0 of the PSP are: (KD) and (MODULE) a simple wrong manipulation in these folders can make the PSP unusable (risk of complete brick attention!).
How to avoid a brick?
You need to know what you’re doing when accessing Flash 0, and especially always keep a copy of your original Flash 0 on your PC, to repair damages (thanks to the recovery menu)
Repairing a bricked PSP:
In case of a semi-brick: turn on the PSP by holding R, access the recovery menu, then go to Advanced, Toggle Flash 0, the PSP will be detected as a removable disk, copy and paste the original Flash 0 (that you saved beforehand), and there you go, exit recovery and restart the PSP, all is well.....
In case of total brick: the only solution is the Despertar del Cementerio by Dark Alex, which you can find on more specialized sites, this includes creating a Pandora battery and a magic memory stick.... works on all bricked PSPs or those on official firmware
Note: you will need a non-bricked PSP with custom firmware (from a friend for example) to create the Pandora's battery.

Don't forget to specify that the method you provide in case of a semi-brick concerns only cracked PSPs (in CF) because the operation takes place via Recovery.

Indeed, I didn't specify, thank you..

The PSP is not bricked (according to the professional). He told me that it's the graphics card that is dead. He is repairing it for me, and I'll keep you updated in about ten days.

Or it's really a semi-brick, it takes 10 minutes to fix and he charges you 50 euros + fees for a graphics card... not stupid, that guy!!

With that, you can do anything on the PSP...

If it were a semi-brick, he wouldn't be able to use the XMB normally like he does, some functions wouldn't work.

But here, only his screen doesn't work, but it doesn't prevent a "normal" use of the PSP.

Salut Rana, je voulais te demander si après avoir changé la carte graphique, ta PSP fonctionnait. Si oui, où es-tu allé pour la faire réparer et combien ça t'a coûté ?
Merci de répondre.

I didn't understand because I have a PSP with a black screen and sometimes it turns off after one minute, and it's on M33 (non-official cracked). What should I do to make it look nice and new :P to get it repaired please?

You can't, it's the connections with the screen and the motherboard that are dead. It happened to me too, and I changed the cables connected to the screen and it worked.

You're up there and down at the bottom of the screen, but they're in the gray thing all around. The best thing is to buy a screen on eBay, it doesn't cost much.

If it were a brick, you wouldn't hear anything, so it's the motherboard connector that's down. You just have to buy a new motherboard; it costs about €35. You can sell the screen to make some money to buy the motherboard.

In my opinion, it's your motherboard, or else try waking up the comment https://sebyin.com

I hope it's not the motherboard. What's surprising is that the sound works fine. I can even go into the "music" menu blindly to listen to music. I would like to try the desperatar del commentario but I don't know anyone who has a PSP. I'm still very inexperienced too. I don't know if it's possible to borrow it for some money or to buy it.

No, I rather think it's the cables that connect your motherboard to your PSP that are dead, so the best thing to do is to buy a screen on eBay or elsewhere, it doesn't cost much.
