I turned on my computer and it said: NTLDR missing. Ctrl + alt + delete to restart, and it keeps happening.
I tried going into the BIOS to check, I changed a few things but being a novice, I must have messed something up because now when I turn on my tower, there’s no connection with the screen or the keyboard!!!
Please help, what can I do??

I've never opened my tower, do I open it from the front or the back, what does the motherboard look like?? It would be cool if you were on MSN so we could chat faster.

Please: When I turn on my computer, nothing appears on the screen; it's dead just like the keyboard. Someone advised me to remove the battery and put it back after a few minutes, which I did. But still the same, nothing shows up. What should I do??? Thank you again for your help

Hi,
It's not enough to remove the battery; you also need to move a jumper for 10 seconds, then put it back in place.
This is called doing a CLEAR CMOS (resetting the BIOS).
Check the manual for your motherboard on how to do it.
Find out which jumper to move (not far from the battery) on the motherboard; it will be written in small next to the jumper: Cmos or clear cmos, I can't remember exactly. You'll see, it's not very complicated.

Hello everyone, I have roughly the same problem. I restarted without the motherboard battery following a suggestion given on a forum because of a startup issue "Windows root / missing or damaged file, please reinstall this file error code 7" and now it doesn't start at all, nothing lights up, power supply tested okay. Help, is the motherboard dead? If so, how can I tell? Can someone help me, a whiz? Thanks in advance...
