Hello, due to the absence of sound and video service on my PC, I did some research. The device manager was empty, and upon digging deeper, I discovered that the source of the problem was my Plug and Play, which does not want to start anymore. It displays the following error: "Cannot start the Plug and Play service on a local computer." Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.1

Look at this, and set up your services as recommended, it should work.

    Oh yes, I'm sorry!
Configure the Windows services to access the service management:
Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Services.

The Plug and Play service is dependent on another one.
Configure them as indicated and it should work!

I set it up as indicated, but a significant number of services are disabled, and I cannot reactivate them because they depend on plug and play. Is PnP really dependent on another service? If so, let me know which one, I may have missed that one. :/

Try a more brutal method; enable all possible services (set them to automatic)
Restart, then try to enable PNP.
Then reset to the recommended configuration.
