Hello, I know I'm digging up an old topic, but... Has anyone found a solution to this problem since 2009?
Otherwise, I saw that there are "resetters" for chips for sale on Amazon, has anyone tested them for the stylus DX7450?
Thank you for your help.

Hello
if possible, this should be noted in your manual
just disconnecting it from the PC and then reinstalling the driver and reconnecting it when prompted during the installation may be enough

Hello
thank you for your help.
Actually, I refilled the cartridges with bottled ink, but that pesky chip still says they are empty and won't print anymore, so I would like to know if it's possible to trick this chip or eventually remove it or do something else to stop being bothered.
I saw that there are software options to reset the chips, but unfortunately not for the 7450.
I will try uninstalling and reinstalling, but if there is another more practical solution, that would be better.
If you have any ideas, thank you for your help
best regards
P.S.: I'm tired of paying crazy prices for cartridges and lining Epson's pockets; with ink bottle refills, the price difference is crazy

It's true, yes, I completely agree, but if it's just to have your issue, that makes you think because apparently, it doesn't print
and otherwise, wouldn't a head cleaning restart the nozzle?

Hello
At first, I only had the black cartridge empty, I uninstalled the printer, filled the cartridge, and reinstalled it. After that, it said the black one was fine but one color cartridge was empty. I uninstalled the printer again and filled all the cartridges to have some peace, and now it tells me that two are not compatible. It doesn't say they're empty but not compatible. What a real mess this machine is! Can't we remove that damn chip to have some peace?
Thanks again for your patience.

I don't really know
but in the settings you might be able to uncheck show cartridge manager and that might be enough.

Hi, it's Lamine. I have the same problem as you with my printer; it’s not working anymore, and my PC says there’s a communication error. I don't know what to do. If you found a solution, would you mind sharing it with me?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Let's not kid ourselves, what he's asking for is a soft for resetting the waste ink pad and restoring the counters to zero:
if that's the case, go to Google and type "sscserve.exe" and you'll find versions 4.00, 4.20, and 4.30
choose 4.30 and when you open the software (after downloading and installing it on your hard drive),
you start it and close it right away
after that, in the bottom right corner of your screen, you should see a printer icon with three blue, white, and red stripes
right-click and choose "ink freezer," click on it, and the counters are reset to zero
hope this was useful.
