Hello,
I installed and configured a Sagem TNT SAT receiver without any problem... (The signal is around 70% with the dish oriented).
This evening, it’s raining and I no longer have picture!!!
What should I do?!
Is my signal too weak?
Should I better orient my dish?
Is there anything else to do?
Thanks in advance.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Good evening,
It’s “normal” for a satellite signal and its quality depends on quite a few factors, and in digital even more, so all obstacles can become a problem. Therefore, even when well oriented, a heavy storm, a strong rain that sits between the receiver and the satellite can drop/disrupt the signal enough for reception to be cut.
In short, a cloud is already an obstacle and if it is “charged” with rain or electricity or both, we have an obstacle of several kilometers in diameter between the two.
I think the only solutions are to increase the antenna sensitivity or its diameter, but for both it is basically a change of equipment.
That said, to confirm (I am not a specialist) more information can be found without problem on the multiple forums devoted to satellites, see Google.

Reviewing the fine tuning/adjustment:

knowing that rain can cause problems on a 60 cm dish, a size recommended by Astra, but that only rarely... where it gets tricky is with flat antennas, e.g. Neovia V100, which don’t tolerate heavy rain very well...
