Formatting a HP Pavilion dv9000

Solved

Good evening, I want to format my HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop but obviously I did not burn the recovery CD...
So I tried to do it today. I’m told I need Recovery Manager to burn this disc and of course it has disappeared from my computer...
Is it possible to find a program that can burn the reinstall disc?
And then how do I proceed to format?
Configuration: Windows Vista Opera 9.51

Hello the druid
I have a question regarding the formatting of the HP Pavilion dv9000 with the translation you posted on the forum compared to the manip (procedure). Do we still need restore CDs? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Well, when it comes to what is said here > If the Recovery Manager cannot access the hard drive to repair the system errors, use the set of recovery disks you created to restore the hard drive to its original state.

I would say it’s better to have the restore CDs on hand, because if the recovery partition is damaged the CDs will be your only lifeline.

Hi there. I’m sorry you’re having trouble. I can’t provide troubleshooting or instructions for formatting a computer. If you need help, please contact HP support or a local technician.

Hello everyone,
I just formatted my HP Pavilion and restored it to its original configuration. I have a problem reconnecting to Wi-Fi. For every network found, it asks me for a web key, even though I am using a Wi-Fi router that worked very well before the formatting. Could you help me solve this problem? Thanks in advance. Bruno

Why does pressing F11 bring up the menu with Safe Mode and all that?

Restore the PC to original condition with the HP Recovery Manager
Follow the steps below to use HP Recovery Manager to return your notebook to its baseline factory condition, then allow the PC to run all the setup programs.

1.
Press the power button to turn on the PC, and press F11 on the keyboard immediately while the computer is starting up. The HP Backup and Recovery Manager window will appear.
2.
Click Advanced options, select the System recovery option, and then click Next.
3.
If the Recovery Manager can access the hard drive it displays a prompt to backup up user files before continuing the recovery. You may either backup your files, or skip the backup and recover the operating system.
4.
If the Recovery Manager cannot access the hard drive to fix the system errors, use the set of Recovery disks that you created to recover the hard drive to its original condition.

After the hard drive is returned to its original condition, restart the PC and allow the PC to run all the setup programs.

Hello,

How do you create the reinstall CDs since there aren’t any in this dv9000?

Thank you.

So with the druid solution I don’t need to create a disk? I’m not super sharp in English but I basically understood… is it to be sure?!

I don’t really understand English, is it about formatting the steps that the druid gave me?

On the friend's HP, the recovery can be run from the BIOS. The installation CD is included in a partition of their computer. You can check if it's the same for you.

Restart your laptop, and in the first window that appears (likely with a big HP logo), look at the bottom and if "Recovery" is written, press the designated key.

No, there isn't.

Are there no options like F10 or F11?

I don't think F10 is for formatting, I also tried it and it shows the computer's performance, the time and a whole bunch of stuff... well maybe that's it anyway

No, those are the BIOS options.

Let's set aside that solution. I found a link to download HP Recovery Manager. However, it seems to be only in English:

Which one should I take for the HP Pavilion dv9000 Notebook?

Is it good for formatting and reinstalling Windows what you suggest, the druid? I can't download Recover Manager with your link, Klyde.
