Overpowered games: damage graphics card?

Solved

 Anonymous user -
Hello, lately I have tried to play games that are at the limit of what my computer can handle, and so here is my question: is it possible that I have damaged my graphics card and/or diminished my computer's performance in certain areas such as video playback, general display, or even the usual good resolution gaming of games that were completely compatible with my computer before?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello, I have a bit of trouble understanding your question, but you absolutely won’t damage your hardware (graphics card or other components) by playing a demanding game; the game will simply be too slow to be usable, nothing more. However, if it was working fine before and isn't now, try reducing the load on your computer, especially by getting rid of as many small, more or less useless programs that run constantly and consume power for nothing: like weather gadgets and others that clutter the taskbar! Also, try closing all other programs before launching the game: close Emule, Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, etc.

    Hello,

Well, your computer has protective mechanisms to prevent damage. What I mean is that the motherboard automatically shuts down the computer if the temperature is too high and risks burning out the components, or at least significantly reducing their lifespan.

    Take care

Thank you very much for your responses, I now feel reassured. In fact, I asked this question because it seemed to me that some of my videos were being played at a lower resolution than before...

Ah sorry, I think I found it, it's a Radeon X3 series and another secondary one.

No, impossible, don't be afraid, your computer isn't going to catch fire.

I would say no. Normally, if you install a "limited" game, it will simply not work or be extremely slow.

Hello, I've been playing WoW and for a while the images look weird. I think the graphics card is damaged and this is happening in all games.

Reinstall the drivers for your graphics card.

Why does no one respond when I say that it's an AMD Athlon 64, is it crap or what?

It's just that AMD Athlon 64 looks more like a processor than a graphics card. Well, that's just my opinion :)

Yes, I myself have an AMD and I am very happy with it, but it's a processor, not a graphics card^^

Press the Windows key + Pause, then in the Hardware tab, click on Device Manager. There, click on Graphics Card, and you will see your brand!
