Hello,
At the time of the installation of winXP pro, a power outage occurred. I rebooted my PC to reinstall it but it tells me: "the INF file textsetup.sif is damaged or missing. Press a key to retry."
I reformatted the hard drive, but nothing changes.
What should I do? Thank you for your help.

If the txtsetup.sif file is indeed damaged, you can rebuild a new XP CD using nlite software and a raw winXP CD.
Another cause of the problem is that the file encoding may be something other than ANSI.
Open the file i386\txtsetup.sif with Notepad and then save as:
Name= txtsetup.sif
Type= all files
Encoding= ANSI.
Overwrite the existing file.
The same applies to winnt.sif.
Good luck!!!- Hello
the hard drive of my Satellite S 190-102 PC has burned out.
I replaced it but I no longer have the original installation disc.
I tried with a Windows CD that perfectly reformatted my hard drive.
During the installation of Windows, the screen displays
The INF file txtsetup.sif is corrupted or missing.
I don't know what to do anymore
can you give me some advice
thank you

Search for the setuptext.sif file in the i386 directory of your
Windows 2000 CD and copy it to installation disk 1.
Restart the installation. -

I'm trying to install Windows Movie Maker but it says there's an error! It's looking for the INF file, so how do I install it?

Hello,
I have reformatted my hard drive, low-level format. While trying to reinstall WINDOWS XP, I encountered the following message that prevents me from proceeding: LINE 4263 OF FILE INF\I386\TXTSETUP.SIF IS INVALID.
I’m stuck and need help knowing that my hard drive is newly formatted and empty. How can I get my machine back up and running?
Note: I do not have a boot disk, only the original installation CD of XP.
With my best thanks.
And Happy New Year to Everyone.
