Hello,
I bought an Xbox 360 yesterday with the game Lost Odyssey (I mention this because maybe it's that game that's making a lot of noise) which I connected to my computer screen, everything works (sound and image) but I find that the Xbox is making an unbearable noise. Having never played on an Xbox 360 before, I don't know if this is normal or not.
Could someone give me some information???

The noise is normal, and in my opinion, it's the biggest flaw of the Xbox 360, and it doesn't come from the fan, but from the DVD spinning. However, the problem is solved as soon as you have a hard drive; you can install the game on the hard drive and there's no more access to the DVD.
When you play with the game on the hard drive, the noise level returns to that of other consoles, and you even gain on loading times, which are much faster.

Even with the reader open, it makes just as much noise; it really comes from the fan. I tried installing the game and everything, but nothing works. The noise persists... It's quite frustrating...

On the other hand, when there isn't a game in it, it's really silent; it's the reader that makes noise.

On the other hand, my Xbox 360 Slim is really quiet when there's no game inside; it's just the disc drive that makes noise.

Quand on installe un jeu sur le disque dur de la Xbox, est-ce que ça prend de la place ou de la mémoire ?

I'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that.
Guys, don’t worry!! I know where the noise is coming from. In fact, at the beginning, instead of starting the game, you need to press the yellow (y) button for game details and install it on the hard drive. After that, you can run your Xbox without any problem; it won't make noise anymore because having it on the hard drive means it reflects much less.
If I had the same problem, it would come from the DVD drive's motor that spins the disc. I took apart my console and I put a tiny bit of lubricant in the motor under the drive, and I've never been bothered again.
Lol the lubricant trick, it's the first time I've heard that... seriously, it's something you should never do (you'll lose your warranty and you'll probably lose your drive too, I think x) ) !! The best solution is of course to copy the game to the hard drive.. it takes a few minutes and that's it, plus your drive will last longer..
It's normal! I want to emphasize that we've moved past the stage of "big" consoles and "powerful" technology with home consoles like the Xbox 360 and PS3. It's normal for it to make noise because there's a big fan to prevent the system from overheating, and there's also the disc drive! So if you want to minimize the noise, record your games on your Xbox, and the disc will only be needed to start it; it serves no purpose afterward because all the data is already stored on the Xbox! The need for the disc to start the game is just a guarantee for Microsoft! This way, there's no way to register it on multiple consoles to play without the disc! I also want to say that it's much faster than loading from the disc!
==>, January 25, 2009 at 00:35:36 Well, in the end, it's pointless; it's better to buy the PlayStation, which doesn't make noise
because that Xbox fan is annoying, especially when playing at night.
Nothing beats the PlayStation!!!

Yes, that's why the PS3 has many more problems in that regard! The PS3 often has overheating issues. Fortunately, there are additional fans available to buy and place behind it! I'm not saying this happens to every PS3!
I'm just saying that the fan in the Xbox is more powerful and makes more noise!
As for the disc drives of both consoles, it's settled for the Xbox! Just save the game on the hard drive!
That's it! And good luck to everyone!

Yeah, it really avoids a lot of overheating issues. My generator (the black rectangle for the power supply) overheats every two hours and I have to wait an hour to continue. By the way, when I put in the game Assassin's Creed 2, the compartment makes a strange noise as if the disc is getting stuck in the compartment.
I want to say "hello scam"
It's bilou...
Honestly, look at the PS3 vs 360 startup tests
You'll see that the Xbox 360 is much faster than the PS3
Otherwise, in terms of graphics, it's the same thing

Loading times on certain games are not increased if the game is installed on a hard drive; I even find some a bit longer, which is unfortunate.

Maybe it's time to stop with the PS3, right? We're talking about Xbox 360! Plus, the Xbox 360 offers so much more! ::::Image quality, better networks, ...and so on, and the PS3 copies everything!!! Or at least tries!
Look, Xbox 360 has Twitter and Facebook, and guess what? The rival from Sony announces that it’s going to be on PS3 too, and it’s the same for everything!::::The video-on-demand that has existed for ages on Xbox 360 is coming to PS3. I mean, I’m all for Sony but right now, I'm rooting for Microsoft!!
But anyway, we’re straying from the topic! Let’s get back to the “noise”!

So you're part of those lucky ones ^^! I have a lot of friends who have a PS3 and are online, and sometimes the network even cuts off in the middle of an online game and many other problems, even those who have a very good internet connection, etc., and are using an internet cable, we have these issues! But my friends all want to buy the Xbox 360 now, but it's too late!
