Hello and sorry for the UP, but when I see all the problems and nonsense being said for repairs, it sometimes happens to me that suddenly when I turn it on, it’s in black and white, leaving the console on, turning off the TV with the button on the TV and turning it back on, it should be fine; otherwise, sometimes I have to remove the hard drive and put it back in, I turn it on and voila, it works. And about the problem with the three red LEDs, the same, I have the first console I bought when it came out, I had the power supply burn out after six months, I plugged in a PC power supply and added two fans on the side of the case and since then no more problems. And I’m told it’s not due to overheating, phew, except with the cable they made to connect a PC power supply to the console which also burnt out after a week, so I adapted it and it works. I’m open to any questions, don’t hesitate.

Don’t send your console back, that’s what they want, to make money in customer service. Do you know they’ve recovered old burnt-out consoles, changed the cases and sold them as new in special packs? It’s a scam, Sony and Microsoft are incredible, we can clearly see with Tomb Raider, with iPhone and others, the bigger the ads, the crappier the hardware. They need to sell it as quickly as possible before people want it anymore.
Avatar at the moment where they make us believe they invented something new, games have been doing it for a long time and the graphic quality is mediocre, have you seen Fable 2? It is much more beautiful.

    Hello again,
you need to set all the display parameters (brightness, resolution, ...) to 100 as well^^ and disable the color temperature otherwise the screen flickers (that's how it is for my TV).

Hello, I was supposed to buy an Xbox 360 from a friend. However, it only works in black and white on my TV. It's a 72 cm Sony cathode-ray tube, the latest generations of cathode-ray tubes at 50 Hz. It's barely two years old. But at a friend's place, it works in color on a flat screen. I can't imagine that I have to throw away my TV just to have an Xbox 360!!
Thanks in advance for your responses.

It's not a console issue... I had the same problem with a multimedia hard drive that displayed in black and white on old TVs (SCART, audio-video cables) but worked fine via HDMI. You just need to change the console settings and remove the PAL selection... old TVs do not support PAL... I switched to NTSC and it works perfectly....

Hello, check in the Xbox settings if you're not in S-Video or RGB (AV settings), switch to video if possible.

    Hello
I have a problem with my Xbox. It's showing in black and white since I moved to Chile. It's not the TVs that are the issue, but I think it's something inside the Xbox, so I came to ask if you know anything about this problem of seeing in black and white when you go to a foreign country. So please help me... it's desperate when I'm playing Team matches.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Unfortunately, I have been in this situation and I'm afraid for you that your console is dead. Indeed, if it's the same issue as mine, it's your graphics card that's dead. I therefore bought another console. If that’s the case, even with an HDMI cable, it will only work in black and white.

I reset the factory settings (on the Xbox interface, system settings), switched back to 50Hz and it's working again like before without changing any hardware or sending it back...

    Hello,
I had the same problem, it was really simple for me, I just had to go to the display settings (TV menu -> image -> color) of the TV and set them to 100 (this fixed it just like the volume, which was at 0 at the start).

    First:

There's no need to write in uppercase, we understood perfectly well (plus it's hideous on the screen ^^):

Secondly: I'm sure your issue is listed on https://beta.support.xbox.com/?icid=furl_Home => So go take a look!

Thirdly: A bit of common sense... If it doesn't work on any TV... it's probably hardware... so call Microsoft's customer service (after-sales service).

    There you go ^^

Hello, I currently have a problem playing with my Xbox 360. It turns out that my TV works normally in color when I'm watching TV channels, but when I plug in my Xbox 360, I have to play in black and white. I'd like to know if this is fixable, or if I should treat myself to a nice HD TV =)
And I want to emphasize that it's a Sonolor TV from the 1980s with just a Scart socket.
See you soon, and all your feedback will be really helpful!

Hello, my 360 displays in black and white, no matter what I do. I've reset the Xbox settings and followed the few topics available online, but nothing works.
The TV is recent and HD, and I'm connected via RCA.

I hope you can help me.
Best regards, a desperate gamer :P

      I found the solution,
      there are 2 possibilities:
1- use a SCART adapter at the expense of quality
2- once the RCA cables are connected, go to sources then AV2 even if the TV hasn't recognized the RCA as AV. your Xbox will be in color
      enjoy your games
