Problem with Soldier of Fortune 2

Question

After installation, when I try to launch the game, it shows an error that says "OpenGL Initialization Failure. To play Soldier Of Fortune II: Double Elixir, please verify that your card is OpenGL compliant. If it is, please update to the latest video drivers. See the readme.txt for more details."
What should I do to fix this problem??? Thank you.

Hello everyone, For the problem: client_model has invalid model definition it actually means that your game CD 1 is dirty or scratched. I had that case and I "cleaned" my CD 1, reinstalled the game and there you go, it works again. There you go, I hope to help someone.

Hi, what's your graphics card?  I've never had any problems playing sof2, yet I've played it with a tnt2, a radeon7500, a fx5200, and a 5600xt.

Hi Fabian, to make your life easier, you’re worrying for nothing.
The problem isn't AGP 8 or 4. You should buy a Hercules 3D Prophet graphics card with an ATI Radeon processor.
It works like a charm. I have a 9200SE and I play a lot online.

The problem with the white grid comes from the textures.pk3 file located in your base folder
2 options to fix the problem:

1-/ Take your SOF2 CD2 and retrieve the textures.pk3 file to replace the faulty one in your base

2-/ Uninstall and reinstall SOF2 (Well, that's not really a solution lol)

Shiryu, your problem probably comes from the character you choose before playing a multiplayer game
Indeed, you must have downloaded character "skins" from a server.
These skins are not allowed in multiplayer games
Try changing your character and see if it improves.

For your big square problem, it's very simple:
You explore CD 1 or 2, I can't remember
There you look for the two files named: Textures1234 and Textures0
From there, you take them one by one, doing a copy-paste and replace the textures that already existed!
That is to say, you paste the two texture files into:
C:\Program Files\Soldier of Fortune II - Double Helix\base

There you go, and it will ask you if you want to replace the old ones, and of course, you say YES :)

Hello everyone, I'm a player on Soldier of Fortune 2, I see that Gwena is too and on this topic lol anyway I want to talk to you about my problem. I created a server and I play on it, it's great, but the issue is that I can only play locally, it won't publish on the internet servers. I've checked my firewall, I've opened the port on my Club Internet box, but nothing works, it just won't open. And when I try to join a server, it displays "1.03 gold patch is now invalid".
