Hello,
I'm going on vacation. My cousin has a problem with his PC. He told me that when he turns on his PC, before Windows loads, there is a black screen with white writing that says "boot" (I don't remember exactly, he's not very knowledgeable about computers). He said he can't do anything on the PC, the page stays like that. I think it's Windows that crashed, but how can we fix this problem? Thanks.
Configuration: Mac OS X Safari 525.17

    Good evening
if he doesn't know much about computers
and if he doesn't have any interesting personal documents on the hard drive
the simplest solution is to reinstall the operating system.

    good luck

I know, but I'm in Paris and he's in Toulon.
However, how do I reset the PC, because I'm seeing him on July 15th, thanks.

    hello
do you have the installation DVD?
    or the recovery DVD?
do you have a key at startup that allows you to reinstall the system?

I hope for him that he has a Windows CD, otherwise he’s in trouble, but I can find one.
Please help me because I'm 13 years old and down there he doesn't have a second PC, so I can't go on the site.
Let's say I put in an XP CD, what will it ask me to do afterwards? Please.

but no, the problem isn't on my PC, it's on another PC, and besides, neither of them has a Mac.

    good evening

I think the best solution is to contact a repair technician
they will install Mac or Windows or both for you

it's difficult to guide you online for the macOS installation procedure

it's long, lengthy, and requires knowledge and experience

    sorry

    good luck

He has Windows XP, his PC has crashed already once, he took it to an internet cafe and they repaired it for 80 euros because they said his hard drive had burned out.

    Good evening

First, you need the original WinXP CD and the drivers
You can download the drivers from the internet, okay

In the BIOS, the PC must boot first from the CD, if it doesn't know how, it can ask a friend, it's simple.

Then, put the WinXP CD in the CD or DVD drive and restart the computer

Upon startup, the PC boots from the CD with a message press any key to boot from the CD

He presses any key and the installation begins
The rest is simple; he just has to follow the instructions

When the choices appear, he selects C, formats with NTFS, preferably a normal format, not quick

    And that's it

He enters the serial number when prompted

    The rest is almost automatic

I didn't go into too much detail, but it's enough to successfully install WinXP

    Good luck
