if your screen is an LCD, go into your screen settings and validate the colors.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem on my Acer laptop!

On dark colors, for example, red spots or lines appear!

I've had this before, but with the warranty, I was able to get it fixed. The technician told me he simply restored the system, but after a few days the colors came back :( and no matter what restorations I try, the red spots remain!

I'm in the same boat! I had an HP Pavilion dv9000 and I took it to HP; after a diagnostic, I was told it was a motherboard issue and it's unrepairable, indeed I need a new motherboard! :(
