Connecting Lacie multimedia hard drive to TV

Hello,
I recorded movies on a LaCie external multimedia hard drive, and I checked from the computer that the files were indeed present. But when I plugged this hard drive into the TV, nothing happened. I should have had a homepage for my multimedia, but there was nothing; I tried fiddling with the remote control of this device, but nothing worked. I looked for an AV channel on the TV, but nothing. However, the manual says that as soon as it's plugged in, this image containing the menu should appear??? Thank you in advance for your responses.

Well, listen, I have the same problem as you. I have a 500GB multimedia Lacie. When I plug it into the TV, I have 2 options....
- either I plug in the RED and WHITE RCA (for sound) and the YELLOW RCA (for video)
- or instead of the YELLOW RCA, I plug in the S-Video connector available on the cable provided by Lacie
In both cases, whether I switch to the "S-Video" channel on my TV, or the "AV" channel (in the case where I have the 3 RCAs - red, white, yellow - plugged in), the menu does not display....NO IMAGE ON MY SCREEN
By randomly pressing the remote control provided (since I can't see anything), I managed to start a movie!!! (lucky shot)
The sound worked well but not the image. I still switched the input on my TV with another auxiliary (my Wii)
and THERE I got an image. So it comes either from the cable provided by Lacie or from the disk...

well, I apparently have the same issue, I’ve tried everything: HDMI cable, SCART connection with the 3 cables, HDMI/DVI connection, I’ve changed channels, I’ve switched outlets, I’ve changed cables several times: NOTHING works!!!
my hard drive lights up (small blue light + sound of the drive running, so it’s properly connected at that level), but I have no menu, no image, no sound, NOTHING!!! so it’s starting to annoy me “slightly”, at the price I paid I really regret it, because I can’t find a solution! :(
(my drive is the LaCie LaCinema Rugged 320GB).
there you go, if you come across this and read it, I strongly advise against it...-

Hello, I'm experiencing the same connection issue. When it's new, the connection with the PC and the connection with the TV work alternately. Then problems start when it comes to getting it recognized by the PC, and it gets worse until there's no more connection with the PC. The connection still works with the TV sometimes, but then nothing works anymore. This is my second bad experience with the Lacie 1TB. I would not recommend it.

Planned Obsolescence. I opened my LaCie multimedia hard drive and connected the hard drive to another hard drive and the hard drive works. The LaCie hard drive case also works since it lights up and I even have the menu.
I only see a chip programmed to stop the system.
