Hello,

The .AVI videos from my camera are no longer being played correctly by any software; there's just sound, but the image is black. The duration, size of 640*480 pixels, and 15 frames per second are still detected, and I can open it with absolutely everything: VLC, Winamp, Windows Media Player, Multiquence, RealPlayer, but always with a completely black image.

Characteristics by GSpot:

codec MJPG, Codec(s) are Installed

No Codec Required

I haven't tried anything yet because I have no idea where to start to solve this.
Configuration: Windows XP SP3 Firefox 2.0.0.14

    Hi jykonerien,
what's your camera, there isn't a CD that explains the AVI format used.

    see you later

Finally, it got solved quickly through a-MSN, a buddy who is a computer expert connected in the meantime. He made me install K-Lite Codec, and it's working again like before. The thumbnails are still black; I'll check that after the restart.
(By the way, the camera is a Praktika; it doesn't need a CD. When it's connected via USB, Windows sees a hard drive for the memory and another hard drive for the card, and it transfers automatically).

Thanks for the attempt to help, though. ;)
