The Crow : la prière maléfique

Good evening everyone. I have a new request: I’m a fan of the movie The Crow, but I mean the real and only one from 1994.

I recently learned that three sequels were made. Okay, no problem, I searched for the videos and I found them pretty good, especially the second one and a bit of the third.

Anyway, I’m stuck on number 4: Wicked Prayer; I can’t find any of my usual suppliers who have it in French. It’s available in German, English, Swedish, but nothing in French.

If anyone knows a site or an address where I could get it in French, that would be really nice...

Hello,

The French subtitles for The Crow: Wicked Prayer are now available at:

http://www.opensubtitles.org/fr/subtitles/3538439/the-crow-wicked-prayer-fr

I extracted them from the DVD I bought in the United States and synced them with the PAL version (25 fps). If you experience any lag, just use Subtitle Workshop to adjust all the subtitles; here's a tutorial that helped me sync my subtitles with the PAL version:

http://www.alconis.com/dotclear/index.php?2008/02/21/229-reparer-des-sous-titres-decales

Enjoy the movie!

Hi Dubbix, there is indeed WICKED PRAYER, currently unavailable in French but available in subtitled version. There is also THE CROW: Resurrection, with Mark DACASCOS, as well as the resulting series, which is a good series by the way (see my website: http://lesjeudisdelangoisse.chez-alice.fr/...

Uh Corbin, it's good that you're talking about the series, but it doesn't come from the third one; it comes from the first one with Brandon Lee, and the series stops, if I remember correctly, just before the second one was released in theaters ^^ but anyway, the series is not bad, it's true.

So cool. A big thank you for your amazing response.

The site is really great, I can't wait to check out the series (I didn't know it existed, lol).
But for Wicked Prayer, don't tell me where I can find it??
Personally, as I said before, I prefer the first two films.

Anyway, thanks again and if you have any info on a store where I can find number 4, don't hesitate.

up.

Good evening again, I just went to check out a few sites, and indeed the series looks pretty good. I saw that it has about 20 episodes!!!!!! (22 exactly.)

Could you confirm this info for me and let me know if all the episodes are available in French or with subtitles?? Yeah, I know it’s a lot of info, but when you love.........................................you love.

See you and thanks

To answer your question, the DVD was only released in region 1 (Canada and the USA)
so there is no French version available; however, it does exist in Spanish and Italian versions.

The DVD "The Crow - Wicked Prayer" is on sale in zone 1 on Priceminister with subtitles.
To my knowledge, there is only one DVD from the series "The Crow - Stairway To Heaven" with the first 2 episodes (which follows the same storyline as the film more or less) and two VHS tapes, one identical to the DVD and the other with episodes 3 and 4 "The Crow - Stairway To Heaven - Resurrection."
For the die-hard fans, there are also 4 really good novels published in France: "The Heart of Lazarus" by Poppy Z. Brite, "What the Raven Says" by David Bischoff, "The Eagles of Death" by Chet Williamson (published by Fleuve Noir), and finally "Temple of the Night" by S.P. Somtow (published by Pocket).
With that said, I'm off to visit the corbin69 website.

I found the complete series on an American site in DVD.

And to my great surprise, there is a remake of the first film
Wings of the Crow

Thank you for your quick reply, it’s really a pity that there is no possibility to download them via torrent link. I tried but I only found English versions.

Thank you again

Also on Amazon, I’m reporting to you

http://ww1.hotgoo.net there are links to several products on The Crow
Personally, I’m a fan and collector.
I have almost all the comics, I’m missing 3 volumes.
And I have all the DVDs (series, films (1, 2, 3, 4))

Hi Julien, how did you manage to get the complete series of THE CROW and the 4th one (in French?) on DVD since they haven't been released yet? lol
0
julien-vachon Posted messages 260 Status Membre 28

No, when I talk about the series, I mean the DVD of the pilot, and when I talk about the 4, I mean the original version. I also have the Spanish and Italian editions.

Corbin69 Posted messages 2210 Status Membre 226

Ah yeah, okay, but every fan of THE CROW has the pilot DVD! ;-) You've seen the fourth one in the original version with English subtitles, right? Are there subtitles in Spanish or Italian, or not?

julien-vachon Posted messages 260 Status Membre 28

As for 4, don’t bother, it was never dubbed because it flopped in Canada, so it went straight to DVD in the USA.

Corbin69 Posted messages 2210 Status Membre 226

Never dubbed? Oh, that sucks! Anyway, it's always better to watch a movie in its original version! It must not be that great, huh? Yet some people say it's a masterpiece! lol

julien-vachon Posted messages 260 Status Membre 28

No, nothing, it was in the original version without subtitles. Look for a website online where they are available... and install Media Player Classic to be able to add them to the DVD during playback.
Personally, I searched in vain.

Seriously? No subtitles on the zone 1 NTSC? Yet they say it's subtitled in English, right? I'm so bummed, too bad I'm going to order it in original version! lol

Oh, I'm talking about French subtitles, haha ^^ I'm going to check on Amazon :)
Funny enough, the DVD zone 1 has subtitles in French and Spanish
but in zone 2, there are no subtitles :s

I have the South Asian zone then ;s

Yes, but there's a catch here; on Amazon, they say it's subtitled in French or Spanish, and at FNAC, they say it's subtitled in English! They need to get their facts straight! lol

P.S.: English REGION 2s are almost never subtitled! They don't even know what subtitles are! lol

Personally, the story is great, but the choice of secondary actors... ruins everything.
Only the actor who plays the raven is good, the others like DAVID BOREANAS act borderline and the girl Tara Reid... uh... acts very poorly.

Moreover, the hardcore fans only love the first installment of the saga... AND I can tell you my dearest dream would be to make a serious adaptation of the work and not turn it into a commercial film like most directors are looking for.
