free update for magellan roadmate

Question

Hello,
I have a Magellan Roadmate 3000T and I want to update the maps. The problem is that on Magellan’s official website, the update costs 80€ !!!!! At that price, I’m almost buying a new GPS. Is there any way to do a map update for France only that is cheaper, or even free? Or am I forced to pay this amount?
I’m going on vacation in 10 days and the GPS already crashed on me two years ago, so this year...

I also own a MAG 3000T GPS and it seems that the only option is to pay for the update... The worst part is that you don't even know what's in it before you buy it...

I'm also encountering the same problem!
Buying the GPS is not enough for manufacturers...
For an update of a MAG 3000T on the site, it's €80, and for 1215, it's €50; it’s really a shame!!!
For the price of the GPS!!!!

Same problem. I bought it for €80, and when I installed it, I found out it was the same as the one I had before!!

Hello,after multiple searches on the web, it seems obvious that there will be no more updates for our Magellan RoadMate GPS, given the price of the device back then and the fact that the operating system is easily accessible (Windows CE). Can't we consider a reinstall with "compatible" mapping for our GPS?Thank you for your insights so that my golden GPS doesn't end up as a paperweight...

Hello, the best thing is to sell it as soon as possible to avoid more problems with this brand and switch to another brand; Mio makes very good GPS devices. Best regards.
