Hello everyone,

Here it is: I just changed my setup and my monitor. The problem is that the display doesn't fill the entire screen; there are black bars around my image. The monitor is connected via HDMI and linked to the PC through the DVI port on the graphics card.

Setup: Q6600 / Mobo > P5E / 2Go DDR2 / GPU > ATI HD 2900 XT
Monitor > iiYama 24" 2ms HDMI

PS: The monitor works fine because I tested it on my old setup (7600GT, Mobo > P4P800) and the image filled the entire screen)

If you have any suggestions, please feel free; I can't think of what else to try ...
Thank you very much in advance :D !!!
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.14 Q6600 Asus P5E, chipset X38 ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT 2Go DDR2 Corsair XMS2 HDD 500Go SATA 2, 32 Mo cache, seagate Power supply thermaltake 700W

Hello,

I just solved a similar display issue with a full 16:9 HD screen 1920x1080 Medion MD20120.

Let me explain:
I bought a new HD screen to enjoy the HD output of my ATI Sapphire HD4830. I'm running the RC of Windows 7. Previously, I had a 22" DVI screen with a resolution of 1680x1050, and when I connected the new screen via HDMI, the resolution of 1680x1050 filled the entire screen. However, when switching to the native resolution of the screen (1920x1080), black borders appeared around the edges of the screen. In short, the entire screen was no longer occupied.

SOLUTION IN ATI's Catalyst Control Center (latest version)

A lot of things have changed, like not being able to optimize your own resolution. But I still found a way.

- Launch CCC in advanced mode
- Dropdown menu in the menu bar "Graphics > Desktops & Displays"
- Your screen appears large. Do NOT click on the triangle as indicated to configure your desktop ("Note: To configure your desktop, click the triangle on the desktop below"). Right-click on the small screen icon below the "Select a display" label and click Configure.
- Finally, a new menu that looks complete :) also known as DTV (HDMI) 3. Go to "Scaling Options" and adjust the underscan/overscan.

There you go, you can adjust your screen to occupy all the pixels even if the resolution was already at maximum and you still had black bars on the sides.

To those who understand, goodbye :)

Thank you, it works perfectly under Vista with my 4890 HD and a Toshiba REGZA 42 inch.
