Hello,
How to transfer photos stored on the camera to the memory card, I know it can be done but I can't manage to do it, in my manual it says "to transfer photos stored in the internal memory of the camera to the computer, you must first copy these photos to a memory card using the camera."
I own a Nikon Coolpix S510, which I can't get recognized by my PC, there's always a missing driver and the installation fails.
Thank youConfiguration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Everyone thinks the person who asked the question is an idiot, while they are completely right; we are in 2009, and yes, there is indeed an "internal" memory of the camera and an "external" memory, which is the SD card. The two do not "merge into one" at all since I encountered the same problem and I just solved it. So for those who do not know the answer to this question, unless you want to ask another one, your opinion does not concern us; it only wastes our time.
When I connected the camera with the SD card inside, my computer did not display the photos I had taken without the memory card (which were stored in the internal memory).
However, the answer is simply in the settings of your camera. We certainly do not have the same one (mine is a Lumix), but I found my answer, which is to transfer the photos to the SD card.
To go faster, the answer is here:
To do this, I searched a little, inserted my card into the camera, then turned it on, and when I switched to "playback" mode, which is where your photos are stored and where you can view them (the green frame with a play sign), it obviously displayed something like "no content" since I hadn't taken any pictures with the memory card in it; the camera did not display the photos from its memory.
So in playback mode, I clicked on the Menu button (often in the center of the joystick), and some settings appeared with 3 thumbnails:
-Mode
-Playback (with the same symbol as when you view the photos)
-Settings
I then went to the thumbnail that has the same symbol as for playback mode (but I think on other cameras it should be possible to find it in the settings) and I came across "copy" with a small sign that shows a transfer from one place to another.
And I clicked on In->SD, so from the internal memory to the SD card
And that was it!
Then all that's left is to transfer from the card to the computer.
It's really simple; you just need to fiddle a bit with the camera in playback mode to find the transfer/import/copy function, but it's there on almost all devices.
:)

Thank you very much! ; )

Thank you so much! I’ve been looking for a long time! Really, thank you! :D
En principe, the photos are stored on the memory card of your device. If your computer has an SD card reader, it's even simpler. Just insert the SD card into the slot and perform the transfer as explained earlier.
Hello
I have the same problem. I don’t know how to transfer the photos that are on my camera’s memory to my SD card.
I have a Sony camera and I can't find the cable to connect my camera to my computer.
Thank you for your help!

Hello,
I have a Nikon Coolpix and I had the same issue; you just need to be in playback mode (you'll only see the ones on the memory card at that moment), then press the menu button and go to copy, choose from the device to the memory card, and that's it.
As for the people who make fun of others, get informed before thinking others are idiots, yes nowadays cameras have internal memory :-p

Hello again
Because I can't connect my device to my PC, and I took pictures before I had a card, and that card can be viewed on the PC.
It's quite complicated, I don't know if it's because it's on Vista and my device isn't compatible, but I've been struggling with this for several days, I put in the installation CD and Vista can't find the driver... anyway, I'll deal with that later when I have someone on hand to help me.
But if it's possible to transfer the photos stored on the device to the memory card in the meantime, I would be very happy!

Hello,
I had the same problem as you,
I have an HP M425 which has internal memory (15 photos) to which I added a memory card.
On my device, I go to the photo viewing (blue triangle), just before the first photo there is an image that shows the number of photos I have taken and the number of photos I have left to take. While staying on this image, I click on menu, then I scroll down to "move image to card" and it's done!!!!

Hello "Martyr 13"
I understand your question well because I have the exact same problem. My SD card being full, the photos have been stored in the device's internal memory (here a Kodak). I am unable to transfer them either to a PC or to another memory card. These photos can at most be viewed.

No, the photos I have are on the device and I bought a card this afternoon, they are not on the card, and as I said in the first letter, it should be possible, it's stated in the manual of my device, but they don't tell me how to proceed. But that's okay, thank you.
I will surely find a solution that works to view those photos.
Thank you and have a good weekend.

Hello
I have the same problem but with a camcorder.
I filmed on a regular tape without a memory card. And when I wanted to transfer the videos to the computer, I was told that a memory card was needed. So I went to buy one, but it's blank and therefore cannot transfer the video to the computer.
I need to copy the video to the memory card, and I'm stuck....
I don't know how to do it...
Does anyone have an idea????

It depends, either you read them in the device's memory and then copy them to the external memory, normally I think it works that's what I do for my Kodak

Thank you guys, you "saved my life": P I lost my cable that connects the camera to the computer, so I'm using my memory card reader.
Thank you, Alizée!
You are a wonderful person! Your explanations are clear and work perfectly.
Really, thank you very much.

Good evening
I don't get it! Why transfer photos from a device to a memory card and then transfer those photos from the memory card to the computer??
Usually, we connect the camera with a cable that has a USB plug on one end that connects to the computer and another small plug that connects to the device, then we open "My Computer" where the camera appears as a removable disk, we open it, select the photos, and do a "copy-paste" to a "photos" folder created for the occasion.

Yes, but wait, how do you want to transfer your photos from the device to the card?? It's not possible. The device doesn't have its own memory along with a card. The card and it are one!
So your photos are already on the SD card, and it's from there that you can copy them to your computer in 2 ways as I explained.
1. You insert the SD into the computer's slot if it has one and you do a "copy/paste," or you connect the camera with a cable designed for that to your computer.

I have a 1G SD memory card that contains 120 photos that I can only access in read-only mode, but when I try to copy them to my laptop, the photos are no longer readable. If I use another memory card, it works without any issues, but with the old card, even if I connect the memory card in the slot or with a USB cable, it still doesn't work to recover my 120 photos. What should I do?
