Hello,
if I connect my multimedia box to the TV's SCART socket (via an adapter with audio and S-Video outputs), the image is black and white but the quality is great.
If I connect it to my SCART splitter, I get color but very poor quality.
Does anyone have an explanation and a solution, apart from buying a newer TV that has more outputs?
Thank you
kat

Hello,
actually, it might come from a color setting issue with your media player.
Generally, there's an option in the settings that allows you to switch between PAL/NTSC/SECAM.
Usually, depending on the TV, it's PAL or SECAM, while the NTSC color system is mostly an Asian format, I believe.
In short, if your TV is recent, try first with PAL and then with SECAM (it's a color system exclusive to France that is more of a hassle than anything else).
P.S.: check if your TV allows you to change this system as well.-
Thank you, I'm starting to see the problem
my multimedia box popcorn only offers me SECAM but only PAL, NTFS, and composite
my TV is old so I conclude that SECAM might work
so I'm left with either changing my TV (later) or changing my SCART power strip (since I have colors) but which wouldn't lose such quality
how can I choose one to be sure
1/ that it would be of good quality
2/ that it would also give me color like my old low-end box?
thank you
