Hello,

I'm creating a slideshow for my dad's 60th birthday with sound and images. The problem is that while I'm creating my slides and setting the transition menu to automatic every 4 seconds with sound, when I open the slideshow in PPS format, the first slide opens with sound perfectly, but it never transitions to the second slide... Is there an option that needs to be checked?

Thanks to everyone for your help.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.14

    Hello!!!
In the "slideshow" command menu of the main menu, click on "slideshow settings." Select the desired options: continuous scrolling, scrolling frequency, etc.

Thank you for your very quick responses.

When I go to slideshow / slideshow settings, I can't find all the options you mentioned.

      I only have:

      - slideshow type: "viewed on a kiosk"
      - slideshow options: "run continuously until 'Escape' (grayed out by default)"
      - slides: "all"
      - slide transition: "use existing timing"

Where can I find the other options you are talking about?

      Thank you very much.

    Hello again!
Which version of PowerPoint do you have, 2003 or 2007?

I just found out why the transition wasn't working well; it was because of the sound file. However, I still need to find a way to insert the sound file without causing issues with the transition.

That's another topic, I'm looking into it.

    Thanks everyone!

    Hello,

Here’s how to get continuous sound on all slides:
The music should only be inserted on the first slide.

If the music has been inserted through the "Insert/Film and Sound" menu:
In the dropdown menu of the "Customize Animation" pane,
effect options: choose the option "stop playback after 'n' slides" (n being the number of slides for which you want continuous music).

If you insert the music via the Slideshow menu, Transition, you can simply check the "loop until next sound" option, but of course, the music will stop at the next sound.

One more thing: know that only WAVE sound files can be embedded. All other sounds will be linked. So keep this in mind if you need to send the slideshow by email. You can always convert to mp3 in riff wav using a utility like CEDEX.
You can also create a package for CD-ROM.
