How to remove double spaces in Word? Solved

Hello,
Could you please tell me how to remove all double spaces from a Word document? I typed the double space in "find" and then I typed a single space in the "replace" column, but it doesn't work!
This is quite urgent, I need to submit a document!

Hi there!

Try again, because this is the right procedure, and it works! There must have been a small mistake in your handling.

Did you start by displaying the formatting marks (with the ¶ icon) to follow the operations?
Did you position yourself at the beginning of the document before starting your Find/Replace?
Are you using the [Next] button before the [Replace] button to check what Word is doing?
By any chance, when you click on the [More >>] button, do you notice that the "Ignore whitespace characters" option is checked? If that's the case, you should uncheck it.

If it still doesn't work despite these checks, make your file available to us (using https://www.cjoint.com/ so we can take a look.

Hello,  copy a double space from your text and paste it in the 'replace' section. You will ensure that you replace the correct characters. eric
